For proven, superior sound control in steel frame construction, Acousti-Mat SD

delivers the patented technology that meets the challenge. Designed to fit the flutes

of 9/16" – 21⁄2" o.c. corrugated steel decking, the Acousti-Mat SD System isolates

sound waves that historically have been difficult to control.

Fast, easy installation of Acousti-Mat SD is completed with the topping of a

high-strength Maxxon® Underlayment. No longer limited to “quiet” carpet and

pad alone, Acousti-Mat SD opens projects to any floor goods option, from vinyl

plank to wood to ceramic tile, without the associated sound transmission concerns.

SoUND tESt iNFoRMAtioN: All acoustical testing was done by Architectural Testing; Riverbank Testing Laboratories; Intest, Inc.; Twin City Testing Corporation; Maxxon R&D Test Center; D.L. Adams Associates, L.T.D.; Veneklasen Associates; NGC Testing Services; AV Group or JGL Acoustics. For type of floor covering used, channel spacing and other information, contact Maxxon for test reports by number. International Building Code (IBC) requires a minimum 50 STC/IIC (45 F-STC/F-IIC) in multifamily construction. Because an STC/IIC of 50 provides only marginal sound control, the International Code Council (ICC), author of the IBC, now recommends that an “acceptable” level of performance for both STC and IIC is 55 (52 if field tested). The “preferred” level of performance for STC and IIC is 60 (57 if field tested). Maxxon Underlayments and Acousti-Mat are but single components of an effective sound control system. No sound control system is better than its weakest component. Care must be taken in the installation of all components of construction to ensure the ultimate designed acoustical performance.wARRANtY: Maxxon® Corporation warrants Acousti-Mat® SD to be free from manufacturing defects as defined in this warranty. Manufacturing defects are considered to be those defects that occur due to the quality of the ingredients or from the manufacturing process itself. This warranty does not include labor costs and other costs or expenses associated with the removal or installation of Acousti-Mat SD. Because Maxxon Corporation does not perform the actual installation, it cannot be held responsible for the results of the application. Maxxon Corporation specifically disclaims problems that occur due to weather conditions, structural movement, structural design flaws and appli-cation techniques. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied including the warranty of merchantability and fitness of a particular purpose and of all other obligations or liabilities on Maxxon Corporation’s part. Maxxon Corporation neither assumes nor authorizes any person to assume for Maxxon Corporation any liability in connection with the sale and installation of Acousti-Mat SD.
