life and magic. Many people have travelled from around the world to come to Atlantis. Some for the rich fruit that possess strange healing qualities and only grows here, some to study magic as it is the home to the greatest schools of wizardry, but most come just because it is the grandest and most lawful of cities around. The streets are clean and crime rate is down. There is truly no better place than Atlantis. So why would a place like this be in need of Adventurers? Within the walls of the city an evil shadow is awakening.

The Cult of Slumber is a low-level adventure designed to introduce players to the Legendary City of Atlantis and is designed for four characters of 1st level. The adventure should provide characters enough events to level twice and get them at a good level for the second module in the Campaign Arc.

Adventure BackgroundThe Legendary City of Atlantis is a

peaceful and clean place; most people know it as the Perfect City. The Ruler, King Tydus Aquallous, has transformed this barren island 350 years ago into what it is now after finding many hidden qualities of the land; the healing fruit

that grew and the atmospheric pressures that guard the island from dangerous weather. The island also granted King Tydus with magical powers beyond mere mortals. King Tydus used this new found power to create a Great City in the centre of the island and named it after the island itself, The City of Atlantis!

The city attracted many different types of people, most were decent folk coming to start a new life in a nice new city; however some came for more unscrupulous reasons. Gangs started to appear in the city trying to claim it as their own turf, but this was no ordinary city. King Tydus was quick to react; he didn’t want anyone to ruin his perfect city. He conjured up an army of Golems and sent them to rid the city of any unlawful citizens. He then made the Golems the guards of the city, incorruptible guards that never get hungry and never need to rest.

King Tydus welcomed all who came to his city, traders, crafters and farmers; as long as they respected the island itself and kept to the law everyone was welcome to stay.

When the city started to get dirty, King Tydus cast a spell across the whole city that cleaned everything every hour on the hour. People began to see King Tydus as a god but every time they mentioned it to him he would tell them, “Its not me you should be worshiping, its Atlantis herself… I know I do.”

However for the past few months the King hasn’t been seen. The Golem’s and cleaning spells keep working, but no sign of King Tidus… What nefarious deed has happened to him?

Plot SummaryThe Cult of Slumber begins when the

party are sent an invitation by the King himself to attend the Royal Parade in the centre of City of Atlantis in front of the Palace (Party members who are not from Atlantis they are still sent this invitation and are sent free transport of the finest quality to get to them to the city). However when the part arrive the King never appears. As the party ask around they will find that no one else has received an invitation from the King and

no one at the Palace will grant them access to see the King.

After a visit from a woman named Carina they will be sent to steak out an inn at the south of the city where they will discover a gang of thieves that seem to be able to slip past the Golem guards. After fighting them and pumping them for information they will hear about Lord Coleman who gave them a cloak that hides the wearer from the Golems and in exchange for the item he asked them to steal a jewel from the Palace.

The players will then wish to confront Lord Coleman, however after attacking or any other means getting into Lord Coleman’s manor they will find that he is not there and neither are any of his personal items, just a piece of parchment with coordinates on.

The coordinates will lead them to a sewer entrance outside the city that has been ripped open. The party will fight their way through the sewers and find their way to an underground church that seem to be worshiping a deity that the party has never heard of and only carvings on the wall give them any clues to the deity. Lord Coleman’s diary will be found with an entry for that day to meet a person he calls “The Shadow” at the Rocky Boat Inn.

The Players will arrive as a finely dressed figure is leaving the Inn, unknown to the players this is “The Shadow”. In the Inn they will meet Lord Coleman and either kill or bring him to the guards. This is when they will find out that “The Shadow” is going to kill the King.

The players will rush off to save the King, but it is too late!
