Process of work I have a profound interest in the reconstrucSon of lost landscapes and accordingly my work is concentrated on the construcSon of those landscapes. Some of the references that are summoned in my work are the vesSges of the numerous cuTngs on the melanin surface that I use as my workbench. Likewise, the erosion of books through their extended use, the passing of Sme and the way that the color of their pages undergoes transformaSon, plus the rips in paper and the cracking paint from the walls. My painSngs are composed of mulSple layers of paint on linen or wood, saturaSng the surfaces to later delicately peel off large porSons of the paint from the canvas.
I perform this acSon in order to clean the canvas and provide it new airs. I then reinstall those pieces of paint on other painSngs. The canvas conveys this transformaSon and the changes that occur on its materiality from the puTng-‐on and taking-‐off of the pictorial medium, and the fragmenSng and folding of canvases and papers. With these undertakings, I am providing my pieces new shape and a second life, by associaSng the original fragments to different composiSons.
