Patrick Reed Dear hiring manager: Business acumen, a team philosophy, reliability, accountability, achievement in real-time….

these aren’t just words to me. They serve as a guideline and more: one of the principal joys I

get from my work is applying these concepts both creatively and successfully to the task at

hand. And in a way that best meets the individual needs of my employer.

As has been the case with others, I feel confident your firm could only benefit from my

dedication to these principles, as well as my years of experience in providing solutions to a

variety of IT challenges. But experience can be a detriment if it leads to complacency—one

should never stop honing one’s skills and expanding one’s knowledge. I pride myself in

always seeking to learn more, to become the best at what I do. You will see that should we

start working together.

As a necessary prelude to that, I submit this résumé for your scrutiny. You will note when

reading it that, though I have complemented my experience with formal education, most of it

is derived from work in the field. By the middle of August, however, I will have taken the

steps needed to receive my Scrum Master Certificate, and from there eventually to higher

certifications.

This isn’t to belittle, in my view, the value of knowledge acquired on the job site. On the

contrary, one can learn from that venue things impossible to in the classroom; how to manage

people, improvise, deal with the pressures of real-time situations.

I would enjoy putting both that experience and my ethic to work for you, and have no doubt

I’d be a valuable asset in helping your firm attain its goals. I feel we’d make a great team—

and that, if you ask me, is what it’s all about: teamwork.

I look forward to meeting you to discuss that possibility. Until then,

Sincerely,

Patrick Reed
