City CentreNeighborhood

Richmond’s City Centre neighborhood is at the heart of British Columbia’s fourth largest city. Spanning approximately 2,300 acres in size and including 5.5 km of shoreline along the Fraser River, the City Centre is home to approximately one third of Richmond’s population. The City Centre Area Plan estimates this population to triple over the next century and provides a framework for growth centered around creating a mixed-use and transit-oriented village network.

The new Capstan Station, anticipated to begin construction in Spring 2021 and to complete and be operational by early 2023, will support the growing development in the area. The arrival of the station will provide convenient access to all parts of greater Vancouver for residents in the subject’s Capstan Village Area, which projects up to 16,000 new residences once nearby developments are completed.
