No Place for Hate

By Julie Zesinger, 5th Grade Student

Last year our school district decided to start No Place for Hate (NPH) at all of our schools. They

wanted us to have safe and bully-free schools.

Some goals the staff have for Pine Road include living up to our four pillars and making sure we

have strategies for conflict resolution. With a lot of hard work we can always keep reaching towards our

goals!

The Anti-Defamation League established a protocol for being a designated NPH school and we are on

target to complete our three activities by the end of the year. Mr. Swank and Mrs. Franciosa are seeing chil-

dren working hard to become peacemakers and buddies.

If you are still wondering about No Place for Hate here a few fun facts: No Place for Hate is current-

ly running in over 220 schools and organizations in southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and southern New

Jersey and The Anti-Defamation League, the organization which oversees NPH, was founded in 1913 “...to

secure justice and fair treatment for all”.

No Place for Hate is hopefully going to make a big change in our school! Keep being peacemakers!

The Pine Road School Pledge:

I pledge to try each day, in my work and in my play,

To be RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE,

HONEST and KIND!

I am PINE ROAD PROUD!

By: Jasmine Z.

Congratulaons to Jasmine Z. for winning the “Celebrang Diversity”

poster contest . During Mrs. Barash’s art class students in Kindergarten to

5th grade created posters which promoted theme of celebrang diversity

and individual differences.

Jasmine’s concept of “Celebrang Diversity Together” was emphasized

through the puzzle pieces. She said, “the people are different, but the

puzzle pieces celebrate diversity by pu-ng us all together.”

Great Job Jasmine and thank you to Mrs. Barash !

No Place for Hate Artwork!

Students in art class had the opportunity

to create a “No Place For Hate” project.

These projects have been proudly dis-

played throughout the hallways of Pine

Road. All students did a beautiful job un-

der the direction of art teacher, Mrs. Ba-

rash! Some examples are included within

this newsletter.

Talk about Pride!

Has your son or daughter

brought home a pride buck re-

cently? Did they express to you

what they did to earn that Pride

Buck? Pride Bucks are for great

behavior at school. This behav-

ior is reflected in your child

showing one of the four pillars

at school: Respect, Responsibil-

ity , Honesty and Kindness. It is

great to see students taking ac-

countability for themselves! How

do you incorporate and cele-
