Message from the Presidentof World Bowls

On behalf of the Board of World Bowls I would like to warmly welcome the players, supporters and officials to the 2017 World Champion of Champions. It is being staged at St Johns Park Bowling Club, and I am delighted that our popular world event will benefit from being hosted at such a magnificent and prestigious club. Australia has a tremendous reputation for running and promoting top quality tournaments and I am sure it will be thoroughly enjoyed by visiting players, their supporters and local bowlers alike.

As with all great sporting events there are many people who work tirelessly to make the occasion successful. I would like to thank Chairman Paul Norris, Club Administrator Brett Murphy, and his Organising Committee, Bowls Australia and all who have been involved in making this event the great success we are confident it will be.

To the players and accompanying spectators I am absolutely sure too that you will thoroughly enjoy your visit to the outstanding St Johns Park club. I also hope you have the time to explore the many famous sights of Sydney.

In conclusion, I wish everyone a very enjoyable tournament, and may the skills and enthusiasm of the talented players on show make it a memorable one for all involved. World Bowls is indeed proud to stage such prestigious events, which can not only fulfil the dreams of the world’s aspiring bowlers, but also raise the profile and awareness of our great sport.
