I’ve got a cozy spot on the couch and

my paw on the remote, but

something is missing...it’s you!

My name is Tyler and I am

desperately seeking a fellow television

aficionado and couch potato.

Which show would you like to watch? Two of my summer favorites are “Orange is the New Cat” and “America’s Got Tuna”.

I’ll even let you share the remote! In case you’re wondering, I’m an 18-month-old boy who loves to be

petted and played with. Television is not my only joy, I also love being cuddled and kissed. See,

when they came up with the term ‘laid-back’, they were thinking of me. I’m a relaxed and sociable boy, friendly to adults, children and other cats alike. It’s

quite a mystery how I have been living at the shelter all this time, waiting for a loving family. If you’d like

to meet me, please call Pender Humane Society at 910-259-7022. They’ll be happy to tell you even

more about me, such as the fact that I’m neutered, up to date on shots and litterbox-trained. And, oh yes, I’d like to thank photographer Dick Parrott for

my stunning portrait. It’s hard being a male supermodel, laying on a cozy couch, being handfed

catnip-flavored kitty treats while the camera is snapping away. I managed to do it, though,

because that’s how much I want to be adopted! Could I be the star at your home? I promise to

give you plenty of room on the couch!

WOW! My name is Mickey and I am a long-haired doll with dilute Calico fur. It is long and luxurious. If I was a person, I’d be modeling somewhere. My bubbly personality matches my beauty so that if you adopt me, you will experi-ence true kitty cat

perfection. I lean into you for love, give

head butts and just live to serve you.

Come adopt me quick because girls like me

don’t come around too often. If you would like to know more information about me or to inquire about the adoption

process, give Adopt-An-ANGEL a call at 910-392-0557. You may also visit us online at www.adoptanangel.net for

more details.

I am sponsored by Perry Davis. Thank you!

Hi! I am Momma

June. I just

showed up on some-

one's doorstep.

It was thought

that I had been hit by a car since I

was only using

three of my legs. I

also had ticks, fleas, grain mites, intestinal parasites, and heartworms!!! I am currently undergoing treatment, but when I am all done I would love to come home with you. C.A.R.E. is also accepting donations towards my treat-

ment!! For more information about adoption or donations, please go to www.carewilmington.org or call 910-256-2624.

I am sponsored by Atlantic Animal Hospital who

supports Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.).

URGENT, URGENT! My Time Is Running Out! My smiling face could be bringing joy to your heart, but first you must come adopt me! My name is

Ridley (A012616), which means ‘red meadow’ in Old English. You see, I have a beautiful red, glossy coat and I’m a Labrador, which is one of the most popular family dogs in the states!

How can it be that I’m homeless? I’m a young,

handsome fellow, just 2 to 3-years-old. I was found

as a stray and am a little shy when you first meet me, but I warm up quickly with kind words of praise. It was wonderful coming out of my kennel for a chance to be among people

and have my photo taken - I hope the next group of people I meet will be my new family! (And if you’re a single individ-ual, that’s good too!) I just please ask you to hurry, as time is running out. My adoption fee includes Distemper/Parvo vaccine, Kennel Cough vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, deworm-ing, 30 day flea/tick treatment and my neuter surgery! The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Satur-

days from Noon to 4pm. For more info, call Pender County Animal Shelter at 910-259-1484 or send an email to

[email protected]. Hope to see you soon!

I am sponsored in honor of Kathleen M. Langone.

URGENT, URGENT! My Time Is

Running Out! Wise men say only fools rush in...but I’m begging you to rush in and adopt me! And you won’t be

a fool, you’ll be my SAVIOR! I’m Elvis (A012655) and I’m a hunka, hunka burning

love...but my time is run-ning out! There are just

too many dogs arriving at the shelter and not

enough room for us all. I’ve been told I’m ex-

tremely cute and highly kissable, just like my namesake. I love men, women, kids, female dogs and cats, but I’d rather live in a home without other male dogs. Hey, when your name is Elvis, can you

blame me for just loving the ladies and wanting all their at-tention? (I am neutered, but the ladies still dig me.) My adoption fee includes Distemper/Parvo vaccine, Kennel Cough vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, deworming, and 30 day flea/tick treatment! The shelter is now open on Sundays,

from 1pm to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to 4pm. For more information, please call Pender County Animal Shelter at

910-259-1484 or email [email protected]. Please give me the chance to say: Elvis has left the building!

I am sponsored in loving memory of Hank Harrington.

I’m BooBoo and I do believe that I’m the Perfect Family Dog you’ve been waiting for! I was once the

much-loved compan-ion of Pender Hu-

mane Society’s Shel-ter Manager, Deb Rye, who passed away suddenly in January. My mom Deb had me since I was 1-year-old (I’m

11 now) and I’ve never known any-

thing but love. It’s all I have to give, too. I’m a wonderfully

friendly girl who lived with other dogs and cats and I even got along great with

the ducks and geese on our property. Small children and big children are A-ok with me, too - nothing upsets my laid-back and relaxed nature. I’m house-trained, leash-trained, spayed, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. I’m an affectionate and well-behaved Shepherd mix who is just waiting to be part of a family again. It would make my

mom so happy to know that I’m being cared for and loved. Can you make my dream come true? I promise, you’ll be

well-rewarded with a very wonderful companion. Call Pen-der Humane Society at 910-259-7022 for more info.

I am sponsored in loving memory of Deb Rye.

I am Leonard, a napoleon

complex-free, small drink of water who is affectionate

and a charmer of all people! I’m very soft-haired and cuddly, I

weigh around 35 pounds, but I love to

eat and snack, what Hound doesn’t? I’m spry and active, young at

heart – a true southern gentleman who’s not even stub-born! A rare Hound indeed! I can even anticipate what you need before you even know it. How wonderful is

that? I’d be great around the young ones or even someone who is just young at heart. I’m a complete joy to be around, friendly and easy-going. My schedule is

very flexible – whatever you’re doing – I’m in! A lover of all things – just name it. I’m even doggie door certified.

I love to gather tennis balls and bring them all to my bed. Perhaps you need a cute little four-legged per-

sonal organizer with a heart of gold? Just ask for me! To make me a member of your family, please call 919-708-4247 or visit our website at www.cbhr.com. Also, we are always short on foster homes! If you have ever thought about fostering, please contact Carolina Basset

Hound Rescue for more details.

I am sponsored by Mr. Peanut and Ginger Snap.

URGENT, URGENT! Why Am I Running Out

of Time? A gem is waiting right

here for you! My name is Smokie (A011360) and

I’m a very handsome Australian Shepherd mix boy. I’m friendly, well-behaved and will sit up and beg for attention.

Yes sir, I’m smart as well as good-looking! My

former owners said I am a fantastic dog in every way - I got along great with their little girls and with every other family member - but I did not

enjoy being around their young boys. Although they were sad to bring me to the shelter because I’m such a wonderful companion, they felt I would be happiest in a family with no

kids or one with older children. I’m 6-years-old, neutered, up to date on every vaccination and I just had my summer hair cut. So I am ready for YOU! But please hurry as there are too many dogs arriving and not enough room for us all. The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in case

you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to 4pm. For info, call Pender County Animal Shel-ter at 910-259-1484 or email [email protected].

I hope to be seeing you soon!

I am sponsored by Happy At Home Pet Sitting in memory of BEAR.

►My name is Colleen and

I am a laid-back,

easy-going girl. I am

house-trained, great on a

leash, and I do well with other

dogs and people of all

ages. I love to snuggle and I am not high

energy at all. I am EASY. I had a litter of puppies and one is still available. I was a good mom and I let them get away with everything. That’s my personality though. I go with the flow. My foster

mom describes me as a perfect angel.

◄My name is Naomi and I am a super sweet Pitbull. I was used for breeding and when my owner was done with me, he kept one of my puppies and took me to Ani-mal Control. Real stand up

guy, you know? I am a good dog and I’m looking for a good

forever home this time! I promise to shower you with doggie kisses and uncondi-tional love. I am vaccinated

and have been spayed, so no more puppies for me! I am currently living with another

dog in my foster home so I seem to do well with other dogs. I will need to go to someone with experience with my breed.

◄Hello everyone! I'm Skipper and I’m a 3-year-old male Jack (Parson) Rus-sell Terrier mix. Spend just a little time with me and you'll see what a truly awesome and well-rounded little fellow I am! Intelligent, cheerful, calm, re-laxed and ready to be your very best friend, I'm quite the catch. The volun-teers just love me! Please come out and see if I'm your next family member!

◄My name is Bo, and if I do say so myself, I am drop dead gorgeous!! I have deep choco-late fur that is al-

most black. I am a dream on a leash,

have excellent manners and am super easy. I do well with other dogs and I am

house-trained. I weigh about 55 pounds so I am a mid-sized family dog who

is already fixed and vaccinated.

►My name is Sammy and I am the best dog in this

magazine! I really am. I am a middle-aged fella who has

awesome manners. I am completely house-trained

and do well with cats, dogs, kids and people of all ages. I can be lazy when I want to

be and when I’m in the mood, I have bursts of play-ful energy. I am absolutely loveable and super cuddly. I will be devoted to my fam-ily since I am so eager to please. My foster mom

absolutely adores me and wants me to have an awe-

some family. I got all dressed up to meet them. Will you help me find them?

►Hi, my name's Hoover. I'm a Hound of unknown origin, though I suspect I am at least part German

Shepherd and maybe part Walker Tree Hound. I get

along great with other dogs and cats and even

chickens. I love dog food more than anything else in the world, except for

maybe chasing squirrels. I love kids and would really love to find a home with a big

fenced yard where I can play with them. I am told that I am very cute and sweet natured, though I try not to let that get to

my head. I would really love to find a new family who will love and care for me the way my old one has. Won't you

please adopt me?

Page 10: PawPrints Magazine July 2014

Hi, I’m Chance! I’m just 3-years-old and I have

the best person-ality of any “Honorary

Schnauzer” that Schnauzer Res-cue of the Caro-linas (SRC) has ever found! I’m an American/

English Bulldog mix and I’m 60 pounds of pure

wiggles and cuddles. Con-vincing me that

I’m not a lap baby is almost impossible! I will sit on the couch beside you to watch TV or spend the day in the yard if you prefer outdoors. I love rides, too. I’m currently being

treated for a yeast infection and an ear infection due to neglect, but will be well soon. I never complain and just go

with the flow. My friends at SRC fell in love with me and you will, too! I’m vaccinated, heartworm negative, neu-

tered, micro-chipped and ready to be adopted. My adop-tion fee comes with a $25 discount if you present this ad from PawPrints. So if you are interested in a wonderful little boy, visit www.schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org.

There you can fill out an application or view other pets up for adoption. If you need an application mailed or faxed,

please call 919-723-7145.

◄Hello everyone! I'm Trixie (A071495), a 1-year and 8-month-old female Bull Terrier/Staffordshire Terrier mix. Searching for a sweetheart? Here I am! Friendly, cheerful and eager to please, I can't wait to share my sweet self with a family just as awesome as me! Please come spend some quality time with me - before you know it, we'll be best friends!

◄Hello! My name is Oreo (A072267) and I'm a 1-year-old fe-male kitty. If I were in kitty high school, I'd be voted most likely to succeed at being AWESOME! I'm so very friendly and affec-tionate and just the right amount of playful! If you've been search-ing for a fantastic fe-line sidekick, I'm most definitely your gal!

►Hi! I'm Abbie (A072335), an 8-years-

young spayed Tortie. Some might consider 8

to be old but they are flat-out wrong! I just

consider myself to be aged to purr-fection! I

am such an easy-going lady and so very elegant in my demeanor! I can't wait to be your beloved companion to share in

all of life's simple pleas-ures. Let’s go home!

►Hello everyone! I’m Mia (A072083), a female Walker Hound, just over 1-year-old. I'm a sweet, gentle soul who's ready to share my love with a

great family! If you could use a best friend to share in all the wonderful things

in life (long walks on the beach, car rides to the

doggie park, stopping to smell the roses, going to town on a peanut-butter filled kong... oh wait, is that just a dog thing?),

then please come meet me, I won’t disappoint!

◄Hello there! My name is Moochie (A071541) and I'm a 1-year-old spayed Calico girl. I'm just as loving as I am beautiful which makes me the per-fect choice for your next feline compan-ion! I hope you will please come and spend some quality time with me. You will see what a great catch I am!

▲We’re Morris and Murray. We may look like “grumpy old men” but we are 4-month-old “playaholics.” We will run through your house like a cyclone and then fall fast asleep. We aren’t twins but we sure do look alike. We take great

pride in blaming each other for whatever goes wrong!

◄We’re Gabby and Gilly. We are Nebelung mixes with dark gray, long-hair and just 18-months-old. Like most sisters, one of us is outgo-ing and adjusts to new situations easily - that’s me, Gabby. My sister is more shy and slower to adjust, but she’s also friendly. We’ve been together since birth and would like to stay that way if possi-ble. Our previous owner developed an allergy so we had to go. We are current on all vaca-tions and have already been spayed. Give a chance and help keep us together.

◄We’re Sonny and Cher. We

are the comic relief duo

who loves to run and play

and basi-cally, act the fool. We are

5-months-old, vaccinated and fixed. Sonny is medium-haired, and I am short-haired and we’re both Tabby and

white. We don’t sing and dance, however!

▲We’re Sunset and Calabash. We’re 2-year-old sisters, and our specialty is that we are declawed. I’m Sunset and

I’m a Calico Tabby with a lot of rusty orange coloring. Calabash is also a Calico Tabby. I am the outgoing one and Calabash is more reserved. We are both fixed and

vaccinated and ready to go home with you today.

▲We’re Woody and Whitney. Although we like to rock and roll, much like our namesakes, neither one of us can carry a tune! I am a white and dark Tabby and Whitney is

a Calico, the typical showy female. We are only 10-weeks-old and we’ll be fixed prior to adoption.

It’s Siblings Month!

In honor of summer vacation, we’re doing a sibling special. You have to learn to play together, so here are some that do:

tremely sweet with all people but I need a home with no other pets. I want you all to myself. I love car

rides, the beach, going on walks and

cuddling. Please call R.A.C.E. at 910-547-2839 to meet me or visit us on the

web at www.raceshelter.org. Please like us on Facebook at R.A.C.E. Inc.

I am sponsored by Top Toad in the Cotton Exchange

in Downtown Wilmington, NC. Thank you!

I was so scared when I was brought to C.A.R.E. I had been left outside alone with a broken hip and tail. Luckily,

C.A.R.E. helped get me the surgery I needed and is helping me recover from my injuries. I am not sure why someone

would have abandoned me but it hasn't affected my love for people. My name is Precious and I am quite the athlete. I have fun playing with my soccer balls and bird toys. For

more information on adopting me, please visit www.carewilmington.org or call 910-256-2624.

◄The white patch of fur between my eyes is shaped just like a dia-mond. So, naturally, that became my new name: Diamond! (Good thing it wasn’t a square - that just doesn’t sound as cool.) I’m a 1-year-old boy who is used to living inside-only. I’m good with other cats and even dogs. I also am used to being around kids. Please adopt me, I’m a great boy!

▲Where are all the people who love orange Tabby boys? Aren’t you out there? My name is Larry and

I’m managing to make the best of my current situation with my upbeat and very friendly personality. I’ve

become best friends with Rocco, pictured on the right at bottom. Just a thought, but maybe you’d like to

adopt Rocco and I together! We sure do get along. I’m a 1-year-old, darling boy who enjoys laying in the sunshine and being rubbed. Please come meet me!

◄My name is Doser and I’m the kind of dog who really loves being part of a family! That’s why it’s so sad that I’m waiting for one in a shelter. I just want to love and be loved. At 7-months-old and a medium-sized 51 pounds, I’m a Hound/German Shepherd mix who is neutered and up to date on shots. I just adore people and am friendly to other dogs. Won’t you come visit and get to know me?

◄Hello! My name is

Rocco and I’m a little boy, just 2-years-old. I

once had a home but the

other cat didn’t take a liking to me. It’s odd, because I get along great with other

felines! I play very nicely

with the other kitties at the shelter. In

fact, one of my best friends is Larry, who is also pictured

on this page. I’m used to living indoors-only, and I’m a very friendly and loving lap cat. If you’re ready to feel

special and adored, be sure to come adopt me!

◄Well, hello up there! My name is Leo and I’m ready to keep you company at the house, condo or apartment you call home! You see, I’m used to indoor-only living so I’ll be quite content to watch the world go by from a spot of sunshine next to the window. I’m a 1½-year-old boy who is friendly and super-sweet! I love every human I meet and am friendly to cats and dogs!

Page 18: PawPrints Magazine July 2014

My name is Winnie, and I’d like to say Thank You to the couple who found me on the highway. I was just totally

exhausted, my feet were bleeding and I had no more en-ergy to fight for myself. They wrapped me up and took me

to Paw’s Place. The first things I received were a warm welcome and gentle touches. Then they gave me food

and water – and I slept. The next day I was taken to the vet. We think that I am about 3-years-old. I had bite marks all over me – probably from other dogs. I was

tested for heartworms and a tick born illness, but so far – I’m okay. I’ll be retested in 6 months. I am so happy to be able to just be a dog. I know that good things are in store for me when I have put some weight on and have been

spayed. I will be ready for adoption by the end of July. I hope you will come and visit me in the meantime! Call

Paw’s Place at 910-845-7297 and tell them you’re on your way. We’re open every day from 9am-Noon!

I am sponsored in loving memory of

Grace Harrington.

Are you looking for a companion

to take on outings to the beach or park? Pick me! I’m Dixie and I love doing stuff like that! I’m a

playful girl, but I still know my

commands. In fact, I’m sitting on command in my photo. (Just be-tween you and

me, I was waiting for them to throw me a tennis ball!) I’m 7-years of age

and I’m a total sweetheart.

There’s not a mean bone in my body. I’m house-trained, love affection and can’t get enough hugs or kisses. I’m a

Terrier mix who is great with older children and other dogs (but no cats, please.) I hope after reading this that you can see I’d be an excellent companion, ready-made to move on in with you and start making happy memories! For adoption info, please call SOAR at 910-457-6340.

They’ll be happy to give you driving directions so that you can hop in the car and come meet me!

I am sponsored by SOAR in loving memory of all

their wonderful, furry friends who made it safely to the Rainbow Bridge.

◄My name is Sandy (A305429) and my owners surrendered me to the shelter because they couldn’t keep me. I’m a 5-year-old Lab mix who is spayed, vaccinated and very happy. I love to have fun, I like playing with toys, and I’ll sit by your feet while you brush me. I’m eager to please and very smart. I solved one of those interactive treat puz-zles in mere seconds. Let’s love each other.

◄My name is Scharlet (A305686) and I’m home-less through absolutely no fault of my own. Unfortu-nately, my human is termi-nally ill so I came to the animal shelter to find a new family to love. I’m a gorgeous, long-haired girl who is very sweet. I will rub up against your legs and I love to be rubbed and brushed. I’m already spayed and vaccinated so I’m prepared to move in with you today.

►My name is Freckles (A306064) because of

these cute little freckles on my nose. I am

homeless because my family moved and left me behind. My ideal home would be one

filled with love and the promise of a lifetime

commitment because I don’t ever want to feel unwanted again. I’m 7-years-old, spayed, house-trained, vacci-

nated and super loving. I will sit, lay down,

shake, and roll over on command and I’m

great on a leash. I’m good with kids, cats and other dogs, and I’m also good with children. If you could love a laid-

back, mellow sweetheart who loves to be brushed, please save me. Grow old with me! The best is yet to be.

▲Our mommy was a stray who wasn’t fixed so here we are! We are Susie, Fran and Danny (A305758-A305760) and we are adorable, purry kittens. We are sweet, playful, wonderful babies who love to be held. We love it so much

that we’ll totally relax in your arms like a ragdoll. We’ve already been spayed or neutered and are current on age appropriate vaccinations. Come get a sandpaper kiss!

►Hello! My name is Cat Daddy (A306008) and I’m a very sweet and handsome fellow who’s a hit with the ladies. I’m such a loveable kitty that I

deserve to be treated like royalty. When you

come visit me at the shelter, I’ll probably be hiding in the back of my cage but just reach in and pet me, and you’ll see how friendly and

cuddly I am. I’m talkative and purry, I like to give headbutts and I

love to be rubbed. My new home should have plenty of wet food ‘cause I dig it the most. I’ve already been neutered

and vaccinated so I’m ready to be adopted today!

◄I’m a dark chocolate Labrador Retriever named Tamalito (A306025) and I’m full of love. I’m just 2-years-old and simply a fan-tastic boy. I love to run and play and will come over to you and roll over for lots of belly rubs. I’m a gentle guy who is good on a leash. I’m neutered and vacci-nated and I know how to sit, shake, lay down and roll over on com-mand. I’m eager to meet my forever family!

Hello, friends, my name is Bailey! I’m a

6-year-old, spayed female Bloodhound and I have a very

sweet and happy dis-position. I lost my

home when my own-ers moved away, so I’m hoping someone reading this will want a gorgeous girl like me to light up their life! I am friendly to kids and I like cats.

I’m used to living and sleeping in the house with my family, and I

also enjoy playing outdoors in a fenced-in yard. I can sit on command and am happy to meet all new people. I give folks at the shelter the impression that I will settle in well

anywhere. It’s obvious that I would love companionship to enjoy. I do weigh in at 120 pounds so that will have to be a consideration in my new home. For adoption information, call the New Hanover Humane Society at 910-763-6692 .

I am sponsored by Levi Donovan.

Everybody wins with adoption!

I’m a Laid-back, Fun Cat Looking for Love!

I’m Bubba Squeaker, a loving, laid-back, fun cat, not a kitten but I sure act like one. I am only 5½-years-old and I love head rubs with butt-scratches at the same time. I get along great with lazy dogs and playful cats, but the kitties I

live with are seniors and do not want to play with me. It stresses them out, so my mom has made the difficult deci-

sion to find me a new home and I have watched her cry over it. But to make me happy and everyone else, she has decided to find me a loving, indoor-only home. I am vacci-nated and neutered. I also am on good flea stuff, so call

910-619-6363 or 910-769-2891. Thanks, Squeak.

I am sponsored in memory of my brother, Conan, and all rescues given a chance.

Come meet us and fill out an adoption application NOW because we will be ready to go home at the end of July! These photos were taken when we were just 4-weeks-old. Always thought adopting a senior dog wasn't for you? Well, my foster mom says you would truly be missing

out if you didn't take a chance on me! My name is Caine and I was left without a pet parent when my dad passed away a year ago of cancer. My foster mommy took me in after that. She tells me often that I am a

wonderful, loyal, gem of a dog. I love people so much and will do anything to please my pet parent. I may be 11 but I still love to play ball, go for walks and ride in the car. I am completely house-trained and even though I do great in a crate I don't ever need to go in one when you’re not home.

I enjoy the simple life - sleeping is something I am very good at and I will happily cuddle with you on the couch. I

am in great health, neutered and up to date on shots. There is only one small thing about me. You see, I never

grew up with any other pets; it was always just me and my dad. The one time I met other dogs they attacked me and I had to have emergency medical treatment to save my life,

so a home without other pets or tiny children would be ideal for me. I hope this will be my chance at a furever

home. My foster mom will donate 3-months worth of food, 6-months of heartworm prevention and free pet sitting for

life (she runs a pet sitting business) with my adoption! Call my foster mommy today at 910-538-0106. Love, Caine

My name is Bailey and I am an 8-years-young Shepherd and Chow mix. I hail from

Ohio where unfortunately, my owner recently passed away. His best friend raised money

for me to be flown to NC where I hope to find my new forever home. I am a beauti-ful 65 pound bundle of love. I

am staying with 6 dogs, so it's safe to say I get along

with dogs just fine. I am obsessed with balls, I love to chase them and I will run after them as long as

you keep throwing them. I am fully vetted, spayed, on heartworm prevention and microchipped. I really

am a lot of fun. Call R.A.C.E. at 910-547-2839 or visit us on the web at www.raceshelter.org.

Here I am, the perfect dog! Hello, my name is

Baxter and I am an adorable Cairn Terrier

mix. There is not a whole lot to say about me. I am 8-years-old

and I would just love to sit in your lap or on the

couch with you and watch TV and snooze. I do have some arthritis

in my hips and I am on Rimadyl. I also have compro-mised hearing. I also have cataracts but I can still see pretty good. If you are looking for a couch buddy, I'm the one! Please call R.A.C.E. at 910-547-2839 or visit us on the web at www.raceshelter.org. Please like us

Hi, I'm Camper and my foster mom tells me that I'll be the perfect family

dog. I'm a 2 to 3-year-old

Walker Hound who is up to date on vac-

cines and neutered. I'm great with other dogs, love cats and all sizes of people. As you can see by the picture, it didn't take me long to get comfortable in-side but I've spent most of my time outside. When I'm in my outdoor kennel, I never bark or howl. I'm eager to please and waiting patiently to meet my forever family. Call 910-271-3101 to see what an awesome dog I am. You won't be disappointed.

I've lived with other cats and dogs. I'm spayed, up to date on my vaccines and tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia. Call 910-271-3101 to meet me and

◄URGENT, URGENT! My Time is Running Out! I’ve been at the shelter for

two months and there’s just no logical reason why! I’m an affectionate and friendly girl who could be making a person or family very happy

right this minute! My name is Princess Panda (A012040) and I have soft, long, black

and white fur, just like a Panda Bear! I’m a young girl at 2-years-old and I really like to be held and cuddled. Do you need a lap cat as a new

best friend? Rescue me from my current situation and I’ll thank you with all my heart!

◄I look like a Teddy Bear come to life, and I’m as cuddly as one, too! My name is Sarah (A012705) and I was once part of a loving family, but my owner suffered a stroke and there was no one else to take me in. At just 7-years of age, I’m a very sweet, house-trained, Chow mix girl with a gorgeous red coat of fur. I so desperately want to be part of a family again, it’s what I’m used to! Let’s go.

NOW OPEN ON SUNDAYS! 1pm to 4pm

Please Adopt! WE’RE OVERCROWDED AND NEAR CAPACITY.

◄Hey there! I’m just chillin’ out on this hu-man’s shoulder with my paws crossed, waiting for my new family to walk through the door. My name is Luna (A012493) and I’m a fantastic Tor-toiseshell girl with a laid-back and friendly dispo-sition. The workers here say that I’m one of the most affectionate cats at the shelter. Won’t you do yourself a HUGE fa-vor and come adopt me?

►Hello there! It’s me, Skye Blue (A012817)

and I’m the prettiest Siamese mix girl you

ever did lay eyes on, I’m willing to bet. Just gaze

into my stunning blue eyes and kiss my sweet face - I’m quite adept at

melting hearts, I tell you! And look at how laid-back I am, resting on

this person’s shoulder. Now why am I sitting in a shelter when I could

be home with you?

◄Hello there, my name is Rex (A011877)! I’m a neu-tered Pit Bull mix who is not quite 2-years-old. I am super-sweet and well-mannered so I’d be a won-derful companion for you! My former family just loved me and said I was perfect in almost every way, but they had a kitty and I just love to chase cats. So it’s pretty easy, all I need is a cat-free home and life will be grand with a darling boy like me!

►I’m Roxy (A012716), a gorgeous girl who looks like a mix be-tween Border Collie

and Retriever. At just 1½-years-old, I lost my

home because my owner could no longer

keep me. I am very sweet, but a bit shy at

first meeting. I haven’t been walked on a

leash much, but I’m a smart girl so I’m sure I’d pick it up quick! Is

there a kind and pa-tient person out there who’d love to adopt a

sweetheart like me?

My name is Priscilla and I am a black smoke Tabby. My markings are beautiful, but you will need to see me in per-

son to appreciate my true beauty. I have deep, soulful green eyes. I was turned in to the shelter with kittens who have all been adopted - so hopefully someone will adopt

me, their mother someday. I am affectionate, outgoing and quite the talker. Will you come lend me your ear, a home

and the life I was meant to have? If you would like to know more about me, call Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-392-0557.

You may visit us at www.adoptanangel.net for more details.

I am sponsored by Perry Davis. Thank you!

My name is Mr. Sacha and I am in Columbus Humane Society foster care since I was surren-dered to the animal shelter in Whiteville a month ago. My

face and a few other spots were

covered in mange - easy to treat and nearly gone now. But I had some

quirks which made my foster parents wonder about my treatment in the

past. When I went to the park with the

rest of the pack, all I wanted to do was hide. While they ran and swam and played, I dove under the bushes. When I get my food bowl, I hang back - kinda the opposite of food aggression - I can’t believe that a whole bowl of delicious

kibble is for me! I usually wait for the humans to disappear before I devour my food, but I am getting more relaxed about it all the time. I get along with dogs and cats and

every size human. I love attention, scratches, chasing the ball, and being inside on a cozy bed. I have never gone to the bathroom in the house. Now that I live indoors, I have no intention of blowing it! I am neutered and weigh around 45 pounds. I have had all my shots and am looking for just

one thing: kindness. To adopt me, please email [email protected] or call 910-619-3015.

I am sponsored by Top Toad in the Cotton Exchange

►Talk about close calls! I was rescued on the very day I was

about to be eutha-nized at an Animal Control in another

county. That was a very happy day for

me, and now I’m hop-ing for another happy day, the one where I meet my new family!

I’m Cinnamon and I’m a very sweet and

friendly girl. I’d be great in a home with

kids ages 10 and older (since I’m playful like a

puppy) and I’m happy to be with other medium to large dogs. I’m just 1-year-old and ready to start my new life!

►I’m a Family Dog in need of a family! My name is Daisy and I have every-

thing it takes to be a loving companion to you and your

kin. I’m house-trained, which is always a plus, and I’m leash-trained, too. Tak-ing me for walks is pure joy

because I ‘stroll’ when I’m out, I never pull or give you

any trouble. Oh, and tell me to ‘sit’ or ‘lay down’ and I’ll do it. Isn’t it a shame for

a great dog like me to be alone? Please adopt me!

◄Hi there, my name is Buttons! I’m a big, beautiful boy who welcomes loving attention from humans. I curl my face into your palm and purr. My loving owner passed away unexpectedly and now I’m looking for another home. I’m neutered, up to date on shots and great in the litterbox. I’d be an affectionate companion for some very lucky person. Visit me!

►SMALL DOG ALERT! Hey there, my name is Pluto (A046207) and I’m a certified

Heart-Melter. I’m a small Schnauzer boy - perfect for snuggling in your lap. I’m

SO precious! I was born in February 2013 so I’m really just a puppy. I came to the

shelter with my brother, Otto, but he was just adopted. Now I’m lookng for a new

companion. How about you? I’m a very loveable and

friendly fellow and I enjoy being with people and other dogs. I’m also great at sitting

on command as you can see from my photo. Come on over and meet me! But you better hurry, I’m a real gem!

►Precious Puppy Alert! Delicious puppy breath and cuddly cuteness is

waiting for you at the shelter! My name is Starbuck and I’m an

8-week-old mixed-breed boy who was rescued

from a bad situation by a very nice policeman.

Now I’m melting hearts wherever I go! I’m a

playful, happy guy who just wants to love and be

loved. Take me home!

◄Kittens, Kittens, Kittens!

We know what you’re thinking: “How will I ever choose among these three kit-

tens? They’re all simply adorable!” Don’t worry, we

know what to do. Come to the shelter, pick us up, cuddle and kiss us, watch

us play, and soon one of us will snatch your heart away! We are Tigger,

Fred, and Zenia (Fred is the only boy) and we are 12-week-old babies who

were found on the road. Our mom had been killed by a car and a kind man heard us crying. Now we’re hopping

around, playing and bouncing, napping in balls of fur and waiting for our new families to show up!

My name is Sister Mary Clarence!

And I am one sister who

has her "act" together.

I am a little over

2-months-old and FULL of

energy. I find hands very interesting,

especially to play with. I love to seek out new ad-

ventures everyday. I spend most of my time at the Opera-tor station here at Atlantic Animal Hospital, roaming the

desk. I have even pounced on the phones and accidentally hung up on clients - OOPS! I am searching for my forever home and I hope it's with you! For more information, go to

www.carewilmington.org or call 910-256-2624.

I am sponsored by Atlantic Animal Hospital who supports Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.).

Doh! Did you all notice that my tongue

is almost as big as my ears? I'm Homer, a 3-year-old Walker Hound and I am just

as goofy and loveable as my namesake, Homer Simpson. I

am doing great after finishing heartworm

treatment. You wouldn't think a past owner would neglect

me so much I be-came sick, but that's

all in the past. Monty's Home treats me like the king that I am and promises me that life will change dramatically for

me soon - maybe you'll be the one who makes that happen! Meanwhile, do you have any donuts? For adoption infor-

mation, please visit www.montyshome.org, email [email protected] or call 910-297-1338. Please like

Hi, I’m Julius, a 2-year-old, 70 pound German Shepherd! Don’t I look regal?

I’m smart as a whip, too. Unfortu-

nately, my prior owner didn’t care much to work with me and either kept me at home or at

doggie daycare, so I have developed a case of “stranger

danger”. Last year, she turned me over

to my daycare, asking that I be re-homed. Over the past 6-months, I

have been working with Sherri, a won-derful trainer, who

will continue to work with me during and after the adoption process so that you and I may become fast friends. I’m in need of a strong,

but patient handler who enjoys continuous training and lives an active lifestyle who doesn’t mind having me as

their only pet. Please contact Sherri at 910-264-1214 or email [email protected] for more info.

I am sponsored by Pups Play & Stay Daycare &

Did you hear? Chuck is available! He is a very sweet, big-eared boy!

He is 11-months-old and was brought into Pine Valley Animal Hospital

when he had been hit by a car in December. He's

perfectly healthy now and he's been neutered,

vaccinated, and even went to obedience training! He's pretty

much full grown now at 47 pounds and he's been living with his foster family of a dog and two cats. He's definitely a lover and just needs someone to get to know him and be his forever home! Please call

R.A.C.E. at 910-547-2839 to adopt him.

Sponsored in loving memory of Roxy.

Of course, being named after Lisa

Simpson, I feel that I am the most intelligent

dog you will meet! (I've just finished read-ing "War and Peace"

and am ready to tackle Shakespeare's early plays.) I'm a 6-month-old Lab - ready to blossom into adult doghood, but still a

pup! Along with being strikingly beautiful

(don't you agree?), I am perfectly behaved,

‘cause when I enter your home, I will

have gone through Monty's Home's PawsitivePartners Prison Program. I think I'm going to go for my PhD next! I am ready to be your favorite little girl. Find out more about

me by visiting www.montyshome.org or writing [email protected]. Or call 910-297-1338. Please like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/montyshome.

I am lovingly sponsored by Connie and Addie.

Thank you!

My name is Princess and I am 4-months-old. I am a sweet, gentle little girl who is litter-trained, spayed and up

to date on all vaccinations. My sister, Spice Girl, and I have been raised by hand which made us very affection-

ate and cuddly. Our mommy died suddenly when we were one day old and weighed only 2 ounces. Now, we are spunky and friendly. We were raised with other dogs and cats so we are not fearful of them. How precious is this photo! If you would like to adopt one of us, please call Onslow County Partners for Animal Welfare at 484-

883-3552 or email [email protected]. You can find an application on our website at www.oc-paw.com.

SOAR (Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue) Please call 910-457-6340 to adopt us!

◄They call me Cashmere

because I am sooooooooooo

soft! As you can see, I am a beauti-ful Calico girl and I recently arrived at SOAR as a very

young mother - my son Max was just adopted into his

fur-ever home and I am so happy for

him! I am a little shy at first but once I get to know you I would love to let you pet me and rub me and give me love! I am about 1-year-old, spayed and up to date on all shots.

◄Hello there, my name is Baylee! I’m an approximately 2-year-old Beagle/Hound mix girl and they tell me I’m such a babydoll! I have lots of energy, but will gladly stop for some lovin'! I play well with other dogs, both bigger and smaller. I am also spayed, up to date on all vaccinations and I currently weigh around 25 pounds. What a nice size! Won’t you come meet me today? I’ll be waiting for you!

►Roses are red - violets are blue - I’m a beautiful cat - just

waiting here for you! Hi, I'm Lily and if you adopt me you

will also adopt a poet!! As you can

see, I am a beautiful girl but I am also very sweet. I love to sit in laps and get my head

rubbed. I live with other cats at the shel-ter so I think it would be fine for me to live

with other cats at your house, too.

Can't wait to meet!

►My name is Angela (I’m

the pure white beauty at the bottom) and these are my adorable kit-

tens! They are sure to grow up into cats

just as lovely as me. My

story begins a bit sad as I

was left behind when the peo-ple I lived with moved away. They left me

alone, pregnant and scared! Thank good-ness for the

kind real estate agent who dis-

covered me and my newborn

babies (3 boys and 2 girls.)

She brought us all to live at

SOAR until we find our forever homes. I am approximately 1 to 2-years old. I have a calm disposition and I love affection! I, along with my kittens, will be avail-able for adoption mid-July. But, in the meantime, you can come meet us and fill out a pre-adoption application! For

driving directions or more information, please call SOAR at 910-457-6340.

►Meet SOAR’s new-est handsome boy - it’s me, Merlin! And yes -

I’m a full-blooded Chow! Purple/black tongue and all! I’m

about 7-years-old and was surrendered when

my person had to downsize and couldn't

take me with her. I am a sweet fuzz ball and

will sit for a treat. I walk well on a leash,

am neutered and vac-cinated. However - I’m

not a cat person - so please - no cats!

When people enter my ken-

I was born with an under-developed eye and am blind in that eye. The vet eye

favor George Clooney, don't

you agree? By the time you adopt me, I will be a graduate of the Pawsitive Partners Prison Program training program. I am very special. Hurry and adopt me - you will not regret it, I promise. You will be singing, "I Got You, Babe!" every

Just look at me! I’m absolutely gorgeous and intelligent to boot! You just can’t beat that combination! I’m a spayed Tortie, have my shots and great feline etiquette. I’m litter-

box-trained so you have no worries about accidents around the house. Also, I’m comfortable with other cats

and even those crazy dogs that people seem so attached to - go figure! We all know that “cat’s rule” - not dogs. However, I’ve been here at the Onslow County Animal

Shelter way too long now, so ya’ll need to come and bust me out of this place. I will be eternally grateful and I’ll

keep you company for the rest of my days - sitting on your lap giving you sandpaper licks and lots of contented purrs. I’m the “purrfect” cat! Let me prove it to you! The shelter is located at 244 Georgetown Road in Jacksonville. To

Professional animal trainers rehabilitate the dogs and teach them good manners to fit in with the veteran’s life-style and personality. Veterans may apply online via the website www.pets-for-vets.com. In order to serve more veterans and shelter animals, the chapter is in need of volunteers, especially trainers and fosters. If you are interested in volunteering, please send an inquiry to [email protected].

Fireworks Are No Blast For Pets This Fourth of July, please be aware that your pet could be severely frightened by the sound and sight of fireworks and could run away if not kept indoors at home in a secure place. PawPrints Magazine and local shelters routinely receive calls and emails from frantic owners who have lost their pets after firework displays. Oftentimes, the owners had no idea that their pet could be disturbed by loud noises until it was too late. To protect your pet during firework celebrations, the Humane Society of the United States offers the following precautions: ●Resist the urge to take your pet to fireworks displays. ●Do not leave your pet in the car. This provides an oppor-tunity for your pet to be stolen. ●Keep your pets indoors at home in a sheltered, quiet area. Some animals can become destructive when fright-ened, so be sure that you've removed any items that your pet could destroy or that would be harmful to your pet if chewed. Leave a television or radio playing at normal volume to keep him company. ●If you know that your pet is seriously distressed by loud noises like thunder or fireworks, consult with your veteri-narian for ways to help alleviate fear and anxiety. ●Never leave pets outside unattended, even in a fenced yard or on a chain. In their fear, pets who normally would-n't leave the yard may escape and become lost, or become entangled in their chain, risking injury or death. ●Make sure your pets are wearing identification tags. Animals found running at-large should be taken to the local animal shelter, where they will have the best chance of being reunited with their owners.

ONSLOW COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES

I hope you will stop by the shelter, go up to the front desk and let them know my I.D. number.

They will bring me out to visit with you so we can get to know each other firsthand. You can’t tell much from a distance so we need to be close and

I can visit with you. Then you will see what a terrific guy I am. I’m a great dog, well-behaved, have my shots, and

I’m looking for a “forever family” who needs a dog like me to add to their family unit. By the way, my name is

Ranger (A076304). So saunter on up to the front desk at Onslow County Animal Shelter, ask for me and let me

dazzle you with my many charms! I’m special, just let me show you! The shelter is located at 244 Georgetown

Road in Jacksonville. To adopt me, call 910-455-0182.

4 PAW LIFESAVER RESCUE

I’m Mayze and I’m a 3-year-old Eng-lish Lab mix who weighs 55 pounds. I have been with my foster home for a year. Everyone keeps telling me how sweet and perfect I am, but for some reason no one has adopted me yet. I really am a good girl! I have been to doggy obedience

school and am very well-mannered. I'm house and crate-trained, but my foster mom just lets me nap on the

couch while she's at work. I am really good in the car and walk nice on a leash. I love little humans! I have 3 of my own at my foster home and I am really good with them. I get along fine with boy dogs, but

prefer to be the only girl in the house. To adopt me, please email [email protected] or call 252-531-0744.

My name is Fletcher and I’m a cute guy who is a little over 1-year-old. I am a flame point Siamese mix with blue eyes.

My ears and tail have the orange color. When I was

rescued, I had a severe upper respiratory infection and ear mites. I have a bit of a head tilt that is because of the ear mites. I have been neutered,

vaccinated and am ready for a safe, inside loving home. I like to cuddle and sit in your lap. I’m a constant purr ma-

chine and I am fine with other cats. If you are looking for a sweet loveable kitty, I'm the one for you. To find out more,

email [email protected] or call 910-200-0612.

PENDER ENDANGERED ANIMAL RESCUE

Hello, my name is Da'Kid! I am an English Bulldog

mix. Just look at me - I am a big, loving boy. I was wandering down River

Road and was scooped up. Now I am safe; however, I am looking for that fur-ever home. I am full of licks and I love people. It took me a while to trust folks but I do warm up to them. I do play with other dogs and am a

little stubborn. But that is who I am. I am also neutered and up to date on all my shots. I would love to spend the

rest of the year with a family...please? Contact me at PEAR: [email protected] or 910-675-0867.

PET FRIENDS OF DUPLIN COUNTY

My name is Lady. I'm a 3-year-old

black and white Lab mix who is looking

for an exercise part-ner. I love the water and I would be great at agility training or

Frisbee - you should see me jump! I was

treated for heart-worms, am up to date on my vaccines and spayed. I like to herd cats, so

should probably be in a home without them, but I get along with most dogs. I'm such a friendly girl, I was at an adop-

tion event recently and even though it was hot, my tail never stopped wagging, I was so happy to meet all the

new people. If you’d like to meet me, call 910-271-3101.

PENDER PERFECT PETS

COASTAL ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORT (CARE)

R.A.C.E. (Rescue Animals Community Effort)

My name is Kahlua. I love

everyone and get so excited when

people come around because I want everyone to pet me. I had to have my leg am-putated because of an injury that

healed wrong but that does not slow me down one bit. I love to play and go for long walks. I have been through training and behave very well. I like most dogs but I will chase cats. Please

take a chance on me and call R.A.C.E. at 910-547-2839 or visit us on the web at www.raceshelter.org.

ALL 4 CATS

My name is Kate and I’m a

6-year-old, spayed girl. I

have been without a loving home for a very long time and I am hoping for the perfect lap.

What is the perfect lap you

ask? I bet it's yours. I get along with other cats and dogs, I love to play and I’m pretty easy-going. I am looking for-

ward to meeting you so call 919-710-3872 to set up a time to visit with me in Wilmington or check facebook.com/

all4catsrescue for the scheduled adoption events and info.

PAWSITIVE PARTNERS PRISON PROGRAM

I'm the ultra-glamorous Cher! And “If I Could

Turn Back Time,” I would-n't have been sent to a shelter to have to find a new family to love. But, “The Beat Goes On…” I will just sit here and wait for the person I should

have been with all along - YOU! I am a 5-month-old BOXER. Don’t you love

Boxers? I will get my training diploma from the Pawsitive Partners Prison Program through Monty's Home. You can learn more about me by writing [email protected] or calling 910-297-1338. Be sure to visit us at www.montyshome.org. And like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/montyshome.

My name is Julie! I am a very good girl, I mind well and I do

not require a lot. Give me a crate

with a big bed in it and I will be happy.

I do love to run around for a bit,

though, so a fenced yard would be awe-

some. I have no problems at all with dogs, cats or kids. I also walk very well on a leash. I may be a little older at 9-

years, but I am past the shoe-chewing and jumping-on-you stage. Will you take a chance on a quiet, sweet girl

like me? Please call my rescue at 910-538-0106.

Are you ready for some fun? I am a little boy

named Singer and I love EVERYONE, even dogs.

I play a lot and when I was younger I was playing with a sewing needle and decided to eat it. Have

you guessed how I got my name? I have learned from my mistakes and

hope to find a new home and family to love me. Is

it with you? For more information about adop-

tion or donations, please go to www.carewilmington.org or call 910-256-2624.

My name is Blaze and I am a handsome Labra-dor Retriever and Pitbull boy of 8-months. You

can see by my distinctive face why I am called

Blaze! I’m fully vetted, heartworm negative,

weigh approximately 40 pounds, crate and house-

trained, and have been working very hard with my trainer (Gemma) at

Paws Training Center in Wilmington. The com-mands I follow are sit, stay, kennel, off, up,

down, quiet - I told you I was special!! I would

love to continue to work hard with my forever fam-

ily, bonding closer and learning even more com-mands. I love children and other dogs and, to

be honest, I really love lots of attention! I love to run and play so a solid wood or electric fence would be key. If you

would like to adopt me, please call Onslow County Partners for Animal Welfare at 484-883-3552 or email

[email protected] and we will arrange a meeting at Paws Training Center in Wilmington. You won't be disappointed.

I am sponsored by Dotty Ann Harding.

Hi, my name

is Sweetie Pie

because I am just that, a sweet-heart! I

came from the Duplin

County shelter a

few months

ago and I had been used for nothing

but breeding in my past life. Those days are over and now I am just patiently waiting for my furever home. I am about 2-years-old and I LOVE people. I would prefer a home with no small dogs or kitties, but a home with a male dog would

be perfect! I have been completely vetted and I have learned some fun commands like ‘sit’ and ‘lay down’. I

really am such a good girl and I would be forever grateful if you considered me as your new fur kid. To meet me,

please call my friend Lani at 910-599-1712 or you can call Leanne with Pender Perfect Pets at 910-538-0106 anytime!

I will see you soon, right?!

I am sponsored by my loving rescuer Lani Wagner. Thank you!

COASTAL CAROLINA BOSTON TERRIER RESCUE

I’m Bryce and I’m actu-ally a pretty shy guy. I

love my people and mak-ing them happy but I’m not comfortable around dogs who want to play

rough. I’m a homebody who loves to play fetch, run in the yard, snuggle

with my people or snooze in my crate with

my blanket and toys. For more information or to

contact my Coastal Caro-lina Boston Terrier Rescue foster family, please email

[email protected] or call 252-633-0987. Visit us online at www.ccbtr.org or check us out on Facebook.

CAROLINA POODLE RESCUE

My name is Star and I am a tiny, 8-year-old, 7 pound girl. After I was rescued from a hoarding situation,

these wonderful folks brought me up to date

on all my vaccines, had me spayed and my teeth cleaned. I feel marvelous and I love everyone I meet!

My house-training is improving and I love to go for walks and car rides. Both my foster mom and the vet say I am

doing great and would really benefit from having a forever home. Do you have room in your heart and home for me? If so, go to our website at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org

and apply or give us a call at 864-489-3559.

CAROLINA BASSET HOUND RESCUE

My name is “Sugar Pie

Honey Bunch” but you can

call me Honey. I’m a simply delight-

ful, middle-aged lady

from Eastern North Caro-lina. Despite

my hard knock past, I’m a consummate Basset optimist! I was homeless and raiding trash cans for food, but now I’m found. Caro-lina Basset Hound Rescue saved me! I need to bend your

ear for a second though and discuss my ear. Unfortu-nately, the doctors are going to have to work on it a little bit but don’t you fret none – I promise when I’m all fixed up, I will listen to you just as good as I would have with a

perfect ear – Basset’s honor! We Bassets take our “listening” seriously! And if you buy that, I’ve got a lovely ocean front cottage in Arizona where we can summer to-gether! Once my stint in rehab is done, I’m going to be looking to make up for lost time. I’m talking belly rubs, treats and the whole nine yards. I’ve got plans – BIG

plans! Don’t you want to be part of this happily ever after? Ask for me, Honey! To make me a member of your family,

please call 919-708-4247 or visit our website at www.cbhr.com. Also, we are always short on foster

homes! If you have ever thought about fostering, please contact Carolina Basset Hound Rescue for more details.

BOSTON TERRIER RESCUE TEAM CAROLINA

Hello, I'm Tyson. I like to play tug and fetch and catch my tennis ball. I get so excited my whole

back-end wags. I also love to be loved and scratched and - I can't help it - I just bounce all around because it feels so good. I don't

really like being around other dogs because I want to be the

center of attention. I am 9-years-old and have never been around

children, so my foster mom thinks it would be best if my new home didn't have any small children. My foster mom also says I am really smart, so I can be taught things. I'm looking forward to finding my forever home. Is it with you? Please email [email protected] or call 828-778-2045.

SCHNAUZER RESCUE OF THE CAROLINAS

Hi, I’m Lucy! I’m a tiny mini-Schnauzer girl. I’d love to find myself in a stable home environment with no small children. I love other dogs, but never got the training I needed as a tiny pup so I

play more aggressively than necessary. I am still a

sweetheart and will learn with the proper effort. I’m just 12 pounds of playful

energy, so I’d love an adop-tive parent who has the

patience to work with me as I mature. I am young, spayed, microchipped and vacci-

nated. In the right environment, I will do great! My adop-tion fee comes with a $50 discount with the presentation of this PawPrints ad. So if you are interested in a wonderful

little girl, visit www.schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org. There you can fill out an application or view other pets up for adoption. If you need an application mailed or faxed,

please call 919-723-7145.

Looking for a friendly and playful

kitty? Well, my name is Baby and I LOVE to play! I am

a very sweet girl who enjoys all mazes and ball

box-trained. They call me Baby be-

cause I often cheer up the group. I'm also best friends with Edward, pictured

right next to me. You can adopt me separately, or you can adopt Edward and I together! Give Cat Adoption Team a call at 910-792-9014 if you’d like more information. We’re

plainly see. I enjoy playing with balls and

any team sport where

my pals chase the same ball as I do. I am

looking forward to cuddling and peace and quiet with you. Once I feel safe and secure, I am a sweet, sweet kitty. I get along well with other cats, too. See the girl next to me, the

one named Baby? She’s a great friend of mine. We can be adopted together or separately. Come visit me at Petsmart in Wilmington. I’m already neutered, vaccinated and litter-box-trained. All I need now is you! For more information, call Cat Adoption Team at 910-792-9014. We’re also at
