COURSE TITLE : COMPUTER HARDWARE SERVICING NOMINAL DURATION : 1224 HOURS QUALIFICATION LEVEL : NC II COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills
and desirable attitude of a computer service technician in accordance with industry standards. It covers the competencies such as: applying quality standards, proper use of hand tools, terminating and connecting of electronic and electrical components, installing, diagnosing and troubleshooting computer networks, configuring and maintaining of computer system and networks. It also includes competencies in workplace communication, team work, safety, use of hand tools, and proper housekeeping.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Students who wish to enroll in the course must:
• have potential/skill as per High School Occupational Interest Inventory (HSOII) results
• possess desirable and healthy attitude towards skill activities
• have passed interview and aptitude test
• submit the following documents:

- Parent consent
- Medical certificate issued by a government physician

LO3. CONDUCT VALIDATION AND TESTING
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
1. OH&S policies are strictly followed resulting to no lost time injury. 2. Specified testing procedures for circuit and system are carried out. 3. Installed devices/systems are protected against loss\or damage in accordance
with established standard. 4. Approval of laboratory teacher is confirmed before any validation or testing is
employed. 5. Installation proceedings, devices/systems test which conform to specified
requirements are followed. 6. Device system identified to cause malfunction of the system is removed, tested
and returned to pretest condition in accordance with the established procedures. 7. Final inspection, testing and validation are undertaken to ensure quality
performance of the system. 8. Documentation of the performed job is submitted to a laboratory teacher
following the format given.
