Special Featuresof the »pcd-100«Equipped with a yoke, which can betilted in two planes ± 20 degrees.The yoke is the basis for theacceptance of all clamping devices,such as a vice for square parts. Withthe quick clamping device, pre-clamped work pieces are clampedand can be ground immediately.Chucks and special clampingdevices for fine drilling units andinserts as well as for tools in specialshapes are available as accessories.

The traditional Precision-Tool-Grinding Machine in the LACHDIAMOND program forresharpening and manufacturing ofsingle edge cutting tools.The »pcd-100« is based on theexperience of LACH DIAMONDsince 1973 in the production ofpolycrystalline turning and millingtools for the grinding of PCD andCBN materials.Rugged construction and rigidity areconsidered of great importance,especially for the grinding of PCD.Even small- and medium series canbe coped with economically, due toease of operation without expensivepreparation. The same advantage isalso true for single-pieceproduction.The grinding of the primary cuttingedge, tip radius and secondarycutting edge is possible in oneclamping, without reference tablesor trigonometric calculations.The inclinable grinding spindleallows the grinding of conical tipradii, assuring always a constantclearance angle.The grinding spindle can be drivenwith standard regulated speeds. Ifequipped with a frequency regulator

(Optional equipment) the speed isinfinitely variable from 2.000 to6.000 RPM.Oscillation-stroke and frequency areadjustable each in position, strokelength and frequency.The »pcd-100« can be operated fordry- as well as for wet grinding,accessories such as dust extractionunit or coolant system are available.The control of the grinding processtakes place either with a swivelingprojector with concentric circles formeasuring the radius or with amicroscope with built-in hairlineplate (each optional).In order to obtain a high grindingefficiency, the contact pressure ofthe cutting edge acting against thegrinding wheel can be adjusted,variable from 5 to 30 kp (availableas optional equipment).LACH DIAMOND has developedgrinding wheels with bondsespecially designed for particularapplications for the PCD and CBNgrinding.The »pcd-100« as a Precision-Tool-Grinding Machine can of coursealso be utilized efficiently for thegrinding of cutting tools with HSS,carbide or ceramic cutting edges.

Special featuresof the »pcd-300«Equipped with a spherical head,geometrically complicated singleedge cutting tools can bemanufactured quickly and precisely.Example: Grinding of doubleinclined, conical tip and profile radii.Or the grinding of differently inclinedtool flanks left and right, as well ason the tip can be achieved quicklyand simply in repeatable grindingquality and precision.

With just a few grips the tool isbrought into the grinding position:• Clamp tool to seat of the spherical

head.• Adjust tip radius on scale.• For adjustment of the clearance

angle and adjustment angle, putand fix pivot bearing temporary to “0”.

• Turn sphere (ball) in two planes toadjustment angle and clearanceangle of the left cutting edge.

• Tighten sphere (ball) in thisposition in one axis with anglelocking screw.

• Turn sphere in the free axis toclearance angle of the rightcutting edge (use moveablevertical scale).

• Tighten sphere with central starhandle.

• Loosen pivot bearing and adjustto tip angle and fix stops.

• Pre-program grinding wheelrotational direction, oscillationfrequency and stroke, dustextraction and coolant supplywith push buttons.

• Grinding – when swiveling thepivot bearing from the primarycutting edge to the secondarycutting edge, the tip radius isground at the same time.
