Shelter (03) during night

Page 20: Pearl’s hill

Very dark, as inside the shelter there is only tube light.

Page 21: Pearl’s hill

Outside still seem to be quite bright..

Page 22: Pearl’s hill

Shelter (01)

Also very dark, but there is not enough lighting.

There is no lamppost around the shelter

How to make inside the shelter more bright?

Page 23: Pearl’s hill

Defining the problems for shelter

• Chairs and benches inside not enough for a family

• Lighting not enough for the shelter• No table found in the shelter

Page 24: Pearl’s hill
Page 25: Pearl’s hill
Page 26: Pearl’s hill
Page 27: Pearl’s hill

design1

• Limit for 4 people only• Use light colours for the table and benches

might solve the problem for darkness

Limit for more than 4 peopleColours choosen a bit dark, as it might not solve

the problem for the darkness

Design 2 & 3

Page 28: Pearl’s hill

Improvements to design3

Adding extra lighting to shelters

Problems that might face?

More expensive as energy consuming

Too much bright, might affect the night life of insects or birds

Alternative??

Can make the object glow??

Page 29: Pearl’s hill

Using the idea of glowing

• Phosphorescence is a specific type of photoluminescence related to fluorescence

• Common pigments used in phosphorescent materials include zinc sulfide and strontium aluminate

• Others includes, Chemiluminescence -The light emission tracks the kinetic progress of the underlying chemical reaction
