PEARSON NEWS / PEARSON-NUUS
HOËRSKOOL PEARSON HIGH SCHOOL
ISSUE/UITGAWE: 6/ 2015
FROM THE PRINCIPAL/VAN DIE SKOOLHOOF
At the beginning of this term we welcomed Mr Ryan Peter to the Pearson Staff.
Mr Peter will be teaching Life Sciences and Life Orientation. We wish him a happy
stay at Pearson.
Important / Belangrik We have four ways of communicating with parents: * SMS * E-mail * CALENDAR * COMMUNICATOR PLEASE consult these regularly so that you are kept in the loop. Normally
reminders are sent via SMS. The FLYER on the Communicator is a record of what happened in the
last two weeks and what is on in the next two weeks.
The CALENDAR also highlights all the events at school from day to day. Please consult the
COMMUNICATOR so as to keep up to date with all school matters, e.g. fixture dates and times for
all sports matches. Remember that the parents, teachers and learners form a partnership in the
holistic education of the learner.
Change in dates / Datumveraderings All parents are asked to note a change in the following dates: Photographic Arts Annual
Exhibition Open Evening will move from Wednesday, 20 May to Thursday, 21 May and the Bands'
'Night of the Proms' Concert will move from 8 May to Friday, 22 May to coincide with the
Pearson Reunion weekend. The “Night of the Proms” is a wonderful opportunity to witness the
school's musical talent. Dit is beslis nie net vir die ouers van die orkeslede nie. Ons het al ons
ouers se ondersteuning nodig. Thank you / Dankie Thanks to all parents who travelled with touring sides during the holidays and also to those who
travelled to Oudtshoorn last weekend. I want to also thank those who have attended away sports
fixtures to support our sports teams. Ons hoop dat nog meer ouers ons wedstryde wat buite die
stad plaasvind, sal ondersteun.

DERBY DAYS / DERBYDAE
I should like to remind all members of the Pearson family that
attendance at home derbies will be compulsory for the
learners and roll call will be taken. I urge parents and learners
to buy into the Pearson ethos of supporting one another in the
various sports, especially on Derby Days.
eindwedstryd sal ondersteun.
Saturday, 9 May, will be our first home matches with Rugby, Girls’ Hockey & Boys’
Hockey playing against Hudson Park.
Ons Derbydag op 23 Mei val saam met ons Pearsonreünie-naweek. Die program begin
Vrydagoggend, 22 Mei, met 'n saalbyeenkoms. Ons verskillende reüniegroepe sal hierdie
byeenkoms bywoon. Some of the old scholars will attend the ‘Night of the Proms’
concert on Friday evening, 22 May. On Saturday evening, 23 May, after the sport, the
Reunion Dinner will take place in the Deary Hall.
YEARBOOK/JAARBOEK 2015
SPECIAL APPEAL FOR PAGE SPONSORSHIP
We appeal to all parents to sponsor a page in the Yearbook for R150. Your name will
appear at the bottom as the sponsor of that page or you could sponsor a “brick” on a
page at R50.
Ons vra ouers om ons asseblief te ondersteun deur ‘n bladsy teen
R150, of ’n “baksteen” op ’n blaai, teen R50 te borg.
