year contact the Rectory:

Our Church will now be closed at 12noon.

This change is being implemented to help lower the

heating expenses.

The St. Francis Adoration Chapel in honor of Msgr.

Ansbro will be available to everyone who wishes to

pray, and in doing so with the Blessed Sacrament.

The Chapel is located across the street from the

Church, in the basement of the Rectory.

The feast of manifestation, Epiphany, is celebrated on

January 6, commemorating the arrival of the Three

Kings (the Magi) in Bethlehem, bearing gifts to

worship the Christ Child. The blessing of homes on

Epiphany is when each house is painted with the

inscription “xx+C+M+B+xx” for the Latin phrase Christus

Mansionem Benedicat (Christ bless this house).

This year will be “20+C+M+B+20”

These letters are coincidentally, the first initials of the

names of the Magi; Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar.

At the Masses this weekend, a card with chalk will be

distributed with instructions on how to perform this

blessing at your home. May the gifts of the Magi bring

you peace and contentment throughout the New Year!

THE BLESSING OF HOMES

We would like to thank each and every

parishioner who came to spend time with us this

Christmas season.

Thank you for your thoughtful gifts, cards,

company and all of your heartfelt prayers.

We gratefully appreciate it.

May God bless you all!

Fr. Esteban & Fr. Carlos

Please be aware that, this year, the day of prayer and penance for offenses committed against life is Wednesday, January 22 – a day Catholics should observe by offering sacrifices and prayers to God for the conversion of hearts towards pro-life.

God of all goodness, You have entrusted us with the gift of life.

Help us to appreciate that gift from the first moments of conception to the last breaths of old age.

Send your strength to all those who defend the unborn, the weak, and the dying against attempts to cut short

their lives. May your holy Spirit touch the hearts of those who are tempted to choose the way of death rather than life.

Grant that your people may always be a sign of your love in the world.

Amen.
