The criteria for new ELA assessments will include:

PEG Writing provides grade-appropriate, pre-packaged prompts (20-25 per grade level) which can be useful:
as a model for high-quality prompt development for capturing baseline writing measures (pre-/post-) when offering students a choice of writing topics
Create and Share Your Own PromptCreate a new topic title, add the prompt instructions, and select the essay category.
Share your prompts with other teachers in your school.
Add Stimulus Material to a Prompt
To support the Common Core ELA Standards, teachers can add reading passages, images, and website links to a writing prompt.
Advanced Prompt Settings
Set timer for timed writing and the number of revisions allowed.

Practice Writing
The writer selects the Practice tab from the home page, chooses the desired topic, and clicks Begin Writing.
Practice Writing
The student works in the essay space and either saves it for later completion or submits his/her work for scoring and feedback.
Automated Scoring
Automated feedback is given as error highlights and as an evaluation of each trait.
Lessons are suggested based on the needs of the writer. Those links will take the student directly to the specified tutorial.
