Most peonies are

“herbaceous” – their foliage dies to the ground in the

winter. Tree peonies are slow-

growing woody shrubs that reach 3 – 4’ over many years.

Add plenty of organic material.

These plants are grafted. Plant with graft union at least 1 – 2 inches below soil. This is

one of the rare times we recommend deep planting.
