chief executive officer (CEO) of Lewa GmbH on 1 January 2013 (see Pump Industry Analyst, December 2012), Naota Shikano is now running the Lewa- Nikkiso Group’s Pump and System Division with new executive board members Stefan Glasmeyer and Dr Martin Fiedler. Glasmeyer is responsible for sales, while Dr Fiedler is head of the operations division. During his career, Glasmeyer has worked for a number of pump manufacturers including KSB, Textron Union Pumps, Lewa and Grundfos, in sales, marketing and project management, with a particular focus on the oil & gas industry. His most recent role was as director of Grundfos GmbH’s Industrial Division. Glasmeyer is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Dr Fiedler has had leadership positions in machine and systems engineering at MAN Turbo and General Electric, with engineering, purchasing and fabrication responsibilities, serving global customers in the oil & gas, process and energy production industries. Recently he has been global supply chain head at GE Gas Engines, where he was responsible for production in Austria and the US. Lewa-Nikkiso says that it plans to continue its Creating Fluid Solutions strategy, keeping the customer process in focus. The company will focus on targeted portfolio expansion, continue to engage in its high-growth target markets, and diversify into other industries with the aim of achieving sales of E500 million within the next four years. Garcia joins Ebara with more than 12 years of experience in business development, strategic marketing and commercial leadership and nine years of experience in LNG and cryogenics. Fillo has spent the majority of his more than 30-year career pioneering the acceptance of progressing cavity pumps for hard- to-dispense, highly abrasive and viscous applications. The HI board of directors selected Sdano for distinguishing himself by the level and intensity of his involvement with the organisation and for advancing its technical work. His recent contributions include a number of key ANSI/HI standards including Rotodynamic (Centrifugal and Vertical) Pumps - Guideline for Allowable Operating Region (ANSI/HI 9.6.3), Rotodynamic Pumps Guideline for NPSH Margin (ANSI/HI 9.6.1), and Rotodynamic (Centrifugal and Vertical) Pump Efficiency Prediction (HI 20.3-2010). Other contributions include a white paper featuring system efficiency, a draft test standard related to energy efficiency, and support of a process by which HI standards development will be transferred to an XML Structured Authoring environment. Sdano has been an active HI participant for more than 21 years. He has helped to shape the direction of future standards work within HI and has been a leader and contributor on many standards and guideline writing committees. Gregg Romanyshyn, HI technical director, said: “Mr Sdano is always eager to volunteer to lead an HI committee or provide technical content where needed. He is well respected by his peers for his depth of knowledge, broad experience, and credible communications.
