Police officers and firefighters bring their passion and skills to the ice in this highly com- petitive game of “Good vs. Good” in support of the vital programs and services provided by the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. e event has raised more than one million dollars over the last seven years, and last year’s event alone drew more than 7,000 spectators and raised $233,000. e Amherst Police Depart- ment’s Officer Kevin Kelly will be skating for his sixth year in the event. Last year, Officer Kelly raised nearly $3,000 in donations and scored a goal and an assist to help Team Police defeat Team Fire in a 5-4 victory. Each police officer and firefighter is tasked with rais- ing at least $1,500 in pledge support for the charity, and Officer Kelly is working diligently to break the $3,000 mark this year. e 8th Annual CHaD Battle of the Badges Hockey Championship will be begin at 5:00 pm on April 11th at the Verizon Wireless Are- na in Manchester. Emily’s performance was Saturday, February 28 at the state house in the Governor’s formal meeting chamber and pre- ceeded the Governor’s Executive Council meeting. She played the Carnival of Venice by Giulio Briccialdi. Emily is a sophomore at SHS and plays the flute in the NH Youth Wind Ensemble and NH Youth Symphony Orchestra through Manchester Community Music School (MCMS). She also takes flute lessons with Aubrie Dionne at the music school. The request for a musician to play for the Governor came through MCMS and Emily was selected. Emily is the daughter of Casey and Daniela Loose of Amherst. Remembering Josh AMHERST – For his ninth birth- day, Joshua Savyon asked for dona- tions to the animal shelter instead of presents for himself. He also took his birthday money that he had received and purchased items for the shelter. Sadly, that was Josh’s last birthday. To honor and remember him, the students at all three Amherst schools are going to carry on this tradition in his name. ey will be collecting items for the Animal Rescue League in Bedford at all of the schools, and at the Amherst Town Library. e donations will be delivered to e Animal Rescue League in Bedford on April 10th, Josh’s birthday. Carthage Coach Stephanie Ulicny Domin To Be Inducted Into Rhode Island Athletic Hall Of Fame KINGSTON, RI – Carthage Col- lege head women’s cross country/ track and field coach Stephanie Domin will be inducted into the University of Rhode Island Athlet- ics Hall of Fame on March 7, 2015 at the Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown, R.I. Later that afternoon, the hall of fame class will be honored at halftime of the men’s basketball game versus Saint Joseph’s. “It is an honor to induct these fine representatives of University of Rhode Island Athletics into our Hall of Fame,” said orr Bjorn, Di- rector of Athletics. “It will be a spe- cial weekend for all of our induct- ees and I congratulate and celebrate all their achievements. Our Hall of Fame Weekend will be a great op- portunity for our fans to welcome them back to URI to honor their in- duction.” Domin, was the first Rhode Is- land cross country runner to qual- ify for the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship, doing so in 1993. A three-time captain of the Rams’ track & field and cross country teams, she earned all-re- gional honors in cross country in 1993, as well as All-New England and All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors in both sports for all four years of her career. In 1991, Ulic- ny was named the RIAIAW Ath- lete of the Year and Scholar-Ath- lete Role Model and was the 1994 recipient of Rhodes Island’s Eliza- beth Holmes Award. She has been the head coach of the women’s cross country and track & field teams at Carthage College since 1997. Domin, the former Stephanie Ulicny, is a 1989 graduate of Milford Area High School where she was a track stand-out. While at MASH she was state champion in the one and two mile distances. She was also the New England Champion in the 3200m in her senior year. Domin received her bachelor’s in human development and coun- seling from the University of Rhode Island in 1993. She was a four-year letter winner in both cross country and track at Rhode Island and was named All-Atlantic 10 Conference four times in cross country and three times in track as a distance runner, All-New England in both cross country and track and field four times and an NCAA Division I qualifier in cross country her se- nior year. Domin served as a graduate as- sistant coach in both cross country and track at Loras College (1994- 97), where she received her master’s in athletic administration in 1997. In addition to her track and field du- ties, Domin has served as Carthage’s head women’s cross country coach since 2000 after three years (1997- 99) as an assistant coach. Domin, her husband, Steve, the Carthage men’s soccer coach, live in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., with their five-year- old son, Ty, and their three-year-old son, T.J. Carthage Coach Stephanie Ulicny Domin To Be Inducted Into Rhode Island Athletic Hall Of Fame

KINGSTON, RI – Carthage Col-lege head women’s cross country/track and field coach Stephanie Domin will be inducted into the University of Rhode Island Athlet-ics Hall of Fame on March 7, 2015 at the Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown, R.I.
