About the ClientOur client is a legal professional services company offering various ranges of legal counselling services. Their global operations are spread across United States, Europe and Asia with 15 Global offices.

Solution Approach Hexaware conducted a comprehensive requirements gathering workshop with various business stakeholders and then went on to a recommend the best in class PeopleSoft upgrade strategy with a defined approach along with the overall implementation plan.

With our pre upgrade analysis tool “PROBE” – Hexaware quickly estimated the entire PeopleSoft 9.2 upgrade plan without losing any time or spending any money.

Hexaware phased out the entire PeopleSoft upgrade using its SPEED methodology in the following way

Business Need To stay ahead of constant new business evolution and drive aggressive growth strategies, our client wanted to envisage the digital realms of Modern HCM practices. This required them to move ahead and upgrade from their legacy PeopleSoft HCM 9.0 system to 9.2. Some of the other compelling drivers which also contributed to this entire initiative are as follows

• Stay current with Oracle’s continued product innovation and avoid discontinuation of support for older PeopleSoft versions

• Reduce maintenance costs by eliminating heavy customizations

• Unleash PeopleSoft 9.2’s Global capabilities and new functionalities

• Streamline workflows, and introduce more user-friendly system

Project Challenges• Lack of adequate technical documenta-

tion (custom objects) at clients end, required Hexaware to do a comprehen-sive study of existing set-ups and recommend the future state.

• Due to client’s legacy environment, Hexaware recommended a two-step database upgrade approach (From SQL Server 2005 � SQL Server 2008 � SQL Server 2012) since the old system was running on Peopletools 8.49 version.

• SQL Server was used by our customer and Oracle PUM is in Oracle DB concept. Hexaware integrated client’s environment with PUM database by installing Oracle client.
