Dear Student PEP PRO for September 2014-15 Our aim is to provide you with the opportunity to become a professional in one PEP activity. There are PEP Pros to choose from in 7 categories. There are 18 new PEP PROS this year and 48 in total. You will be in one PEP Pro activity all year which will run every single week of the year—like a normal lesson. You will need to choose very carefully which PEP Pro you are doing because you will not be able to change your PEP once you have been given your selection. We have provided a selection of Academic PEP Pros for students who would welcome the opportunity to gain an extra qualification. Choosing your PEP You will need to choose a first choice PEP Pro. We cannot guarantee your first choice of PEP Pro and we aim to allocate on a first come, first served basis. You will need to choose three additional second choice PEPs and if you do not get a first choice PEP we will allocate you to one of your second choices. You will find a PEP choice sheet at the end of the booklet. You must complete and return to this at the following times;

Year 7 Tuesday 15th July 8:00 - 8:30 am Year 8 Wednesday 16th July 8:00 – 8:30 am Year 9 Thursday 17th July 8:00 – 8:30 am

There are limited spaces in each PEP. Some PEPs are very popular, so you will need to make sure

you are early and/ or submit on time. Late replies will be allocated the remaining spaces in

other PEPs.

Your parents or carers must sign your choice form to confirm they support your choice. You can choose a PEP you did last year but this will not guarantee you a place. Each PEP Pro will state which years are able to apply. Remember, you need to look for PEPs which apply to the year group which you will be in in September 2014. It is increasingly important for you to take part in activities other than your main studies. As you progress with your education, employers, college and universities will expect you to develop skills outside of the formal classroom setting. PEP Pro gives you the chance to do this.
