Our Approach To LearningMontessori Area: Our Montessori area is specially designed to provide

complete learning environment to the child through stimulation, learning through the senses, freedom to learn, independence, interest in learning, self discipline and repetition.

Curriculum Emphasis: The main emphasis is on learning and helping children to develop a desire to learn. The curriculum includes different components such as social life, self help, sensory and practical life, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, language, cognitive skills, and multicultural awareness and appreciation.

Learning Centers: The free play time lets children utilize the learning centers where they indulge in different activities such as collage materials, variety of paints & techniques, play dough, clay, sand, water, building blocks, lego, duplo and puzzles, spatial relations, gravity, stability, weight, balance, and math.

Music and Movement: Early introduction to music and movement is provided to the children. A qualified instructor from Jumpstart Music and Movement also visits Bramblewood Montessori to provide weekly session on singing, creative movement, instrument play and musical games.

Routine Times: A routine time is followed for different daily activities including snack time, changing shoes, bathroom time, and hand washing etc to build healthy habits in the children.

Cooking and Nutrition: Children are given exposure to understand different food groups, their goodness and need in building a healthy body and mind for the child. Food from different communities and parts of the world are also introduced to the children.

Orderly Environment: A child needs understand and respect the environment around him or her. Children are helped to better understand and maintain the environment and keep things in order.

Snack/ Lunch Time: Two nutritious snacks are provided in mid morning and late afternoon. Good eating habits, social manners, and sharing habit is inculcated in the children through this time.

Circle Time: This session encourages children to share among each other. They can share stories, poems, any activity or anything that is worth sharing with others.

Books/ Literature: Children have access to books at all times. They are also helped in literary comprehension through storytelling, songs, play etc to help them polish their comprehension skills and also develop a love for reading and books.

 

Rest Time: Children use this time to unwind after the day time activities. They are allowed a maximum time of 60 minutes to take a nap as well. This is an essential time for children to take break.

Outdoor Play: Neighborhood visits, walk around the Montessori and indulging in outdoor games and activities helps children explore their surroundings and also get used to the outdoor life.

Field Trips: Field trips to different places are planned. Parents can also take an active part in bringing their expertise to the children.

Homework Time: School Age Program children (Kindergarten to Grade 5) get the support of qualified teacher to complete their school work peacefully at the centre.
