2$ (P'S Session managementThe main function of Session 3anagement *S3, is to support the PDP contexthan%ling of the 3S1> $ (P'S S3 proce%ures comprise of PDP Context

Activation. PDP Context 3o%ification an% PDP context Deactivation$ Theseproce%ures can only be performe% if a (33 context has alrea%y beenestablishe% bet#een 3S1> an% the net#or"$

It is important to monitor the performance of S3 proce%ures in any net#or"because failure of S3 proce%ures *e$g$ PDP Context Activation, for an 3S1> #illmean %ata service inaccessible for the subscriber$$
