Music, Worship & Performing Arts students present “Radium Girls,” a play by D. W. Gregory. In the ‘20s, radium was a miracle cure, Marie Curie was an international celebrity, and luminous watches were the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, “Radium Girls” traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she gets her day in court. Tickets are limited. Suitable for ages 12 and up.

Guitarists Meng Su and Yameng Wang perform selections from Debussy, Fauré, Enrique Granados and more. Praised by Classical Guitar Magazine as “having the star potential to serve as inspiration for new generations of guitarists to come,” the Beijing Guitar Duo made its New York debut in Carnegie Hall in 2010 and launched an international concert career shortly after, performing around the world in halls such as the Concertgebouw, Palau de Musica, Tchaikovsky Hall and the National Theatre in Beijing.

Lancaster Bible College’s Arts and Culture Series presents Ballet Magnificat in “Deliver Us,” one of the company’s most popular and longest touring ballets. Set under the blazing Egyptian sun, the enslaved Jewish people cry out for a deliverer. One man, Moses, challenges Pharaoh and leads the people to freedom—a vivid prophetic picture pointing to what Jesus Christ did on Calvary. Ballet Magnificat was founded in 1986 as America’s first professional dance company dedicated to presenting the good news of Jesus Christ to the world.

The college is thrilled to present multi-Grammy Award winner, Chanticleer, a favorite of a cappella lovers the world over. Founded in San Francisco in 1978, Chanticleer is known globally as “an orchestra of voices” for the seamless blend of its 12 male voices, ranging from countertenor to bass, and its original interpretationsof vocal literature, from Renaissance to jazz and from gospel to venturesome new music.

The 2022 Square Halo Books Conference focuses on “The Inklings—Creativity, Collaboration and Community.” The event will include lectures, writing workshops, a staged reading of J. R. R. Tolkien’s short story “Leaf by Niggle,” an Inklings-inspired art exhibition, a concert by Andrew Peterson and more. Experience an evening of prose and music, through piano and voice, that influenced an author who is internationally recognized as a leading female voice in literature and history. Featuring songs from Jane Austen’s personal collection as well as musicians and performers in period costume.

Called “the young American string quartet of the moment” (New Yorker), the Dover Quartet catapulted to international stardom in 2013 and has since become one of the most in-demand ensembles in the world. Physician and pianist Christopher Shih has a remarkable dual career as a full-time practicing physician and actively concertizing pianist. He has performed in major venues in over a dozen countries and multiple U.S. cities. The Dover Quartet will present selections from Mozart and Ravel, joined by Shih for Shostakovich’s monumental “Piano Quintet in G Minor.”
