Perfusionists in India: Dark realities

Simply finding a job is difficult for a perfusionist.

Finding right job at right place with professional & personal satisfaction is really challenging.

A major problem low salary offered/No Salary.

No teaching/faculty jobs in India.

Just to stand by for off-pump & IABP (90%).

In many centers, less/no important role in prime decision-making.

The cost and availability of hardware is an important issue.

The limited availability of modern monitoring facilities such as simple bubble detectors & level sensors etc.

The controls on the decision-making on the use of various drugs and anesthesia gases.

Changing clinical demands.

Diversification of perfusion related works.

Moreover undue stress and overwork.
