HOW TO TREAT PERI-IMPLANTITS

Page 2: Peri implant treatment Step

Usually Peri implantitis occurs from contaminating abutment and other reasons. So if we clean the abutment by inside gingiva, Peri implant can be prevented a little bit. When recalling implant treated patients, and cleaning their abutment part regularly with special brush (like Gingi brush), patients can maintain his implant longer and Dentists can check patient’s condition and do any action for them.

STEP 1. PREVENTION

Page 3: Peri implant treatment Step

When Peri implantitis occurred, we should clean contaminated implant surface with special brush (like i brush). I brush only cleans contaminated surface, not removes implant surface.(Keep implant rough surface) So when we do bone graft at defect area after using i brush, we expect reosseointegration of the implant.

STEP 2. Cleaning Contaminated implant surface

Advanced treatment is needed in severe Peri implantitis case, R brush treatment cleans and removes implant rough surface, it makes new machined surface. (Soft tissue isn’t attached rough surface) So soft tissue can be attached machined surface area very well, additional biological width can be acquired for preventing bone loss. (Even if bone graft is done again, the possibility of reosseointegration is rare)

STEP 3. Cleaning and Remove Contaminated surface

Last way is to replace contamiated implant with new one. But lower part already osseointegrated with bone, it’s hard to take out. So trephine bur was used as traditional way. But it makes big bone damage and we need to wait 3~6month for regeneration of

bone or use bigger size implant. FR Kit

is the way to unscrew the implant with no or less bone damage after removal. So we can replace same diameter implant immediately.

STEP 4. Replace with New implant with less bone damage
