There are also religious activities done by families that celebrate this holiday in order to make this day go as planned.

Why Isn’t Chinese New Years a National Holiday?

A large majority of Chinese people around the world celebrate this holiday.

This holiday concludes religious activities so that families will be lucky the coming year and also exquisite.

The Important of Chinese New Year

Praying and worshiping gods so that the coming year you will be filled with wealth.

Cleaning their houses so all the bad luck would go away.

Married couples giving out red envelopes to young children for good luck in the coming year

Evil Demons and Spirits

Most people say that on the night of Chinese New Year Demons from the other world come and prevent you from having good luck this coming year and spread bad luck around your house.

In order to prevent the demons from entering the house people place charms and red paper with characters on their windows and doors because the demons are afraid of charms and the color red.

Superstitions of Chinese New Years

The numbers 88 and 168 are both lucky numbers, as odd-numbered money gifts are traditionally associated with funerals.

The number 4 shouldn’t appear at all because it resembles the word “death”.

People also burn money to the gods outside of their house so that the gods can bless them with luck and wealth throughout this New Year.

Lunar New Years Is another term to say Chinese New

Year. There is a ferocious beast that comes

out on Chinese New Year and it devours people. The only way to stop it is to set off loud fire crackers because the monster is afraid of it.

There are 15 days of the Lunar New Year and on the 15th day of the new year is called the Lantern Festival.

Delicious Food

Purposively on this day people eat the best meal throughout the whole year because they want to start to year out with a full and delicious meal.

People gather with family to enjoy this banquet of exquisite food because they have to spend the new year with loved ones so they can always remember the year starting out nicely.

is on the day where this calendar predicts the time the moon is going to be full and linear towards certain stars.

The Ending of The New Year

People Clean up after send all of the bad luck out of their way.

All of the family members return to their daily lives and hope the year will be successful and good.

Everyone hopes the next coming year will be better than the one that just passed.
