Permission for Locations

Page 2: Permission for location

In order to shoot  at our desired locations, permission needs to be gained from the authorities/ owners of land. We were denied  permission and did not hear from some locations. Other locations were not able to accommodate us for the timings / not able to offer use of the space for free.

I began emailing empty locations in June because I knew that we could decorate and change the location into anything we would need during the planning stages in September. I also considered how difficult it would be to hire a venue and decided to start early as a result.

On the day of the shoot, we will go to our first choice funfair and ask for permission to whoever is present. This is because these temporary setups do not have any contact details available - we have to ask in person. If they are unable to allow us to shoot, we will go to our back up option.

It requires a lot of work to ensure that any carriage or area we are filming on public transport is empty. So, we will make sure we travel at off-peak times because these are the times that transport is more likely to be free.

However, the projector scenes will take place at my house as agreed and the bridge/ outdoor shots can still go as planned. We will also be able to film at the bridge, along the streets because this is open for anyone to use. The image below shows that we are legally able to film on transport and at the locations mentioned in the “Locations 2” post, as long as we adhere to the underlined guidelines. I predict that these locations will be enough along with the additional clips we have planned.

If we are, at any point, told to stop filming. We will stop immediately and not use the clips filmed.
