Côte de Beaune Premier Cru Red 100% Pinot Noir Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre Vineyards situation The commune of Pernand Vergelesses is located above between Aloxe Corton and Savigny Les Beaune, in the North of the Côte de Beaune. Characteristics Pernand produces both red and white wines under village and premier cru appellations. « Clos de la Croix de Pierre » is situated on the « En Caradeux » area. The vineyard is facing East, not very far from the village. Soil is made of limsetone and small stones on the surface. Its name comes from a big cross made of stone at the entrance of the vineyard. Wine making The fermentation takes place in tanks after which the wine is aged in oak barrels for an average of 15 months before being bottled. Winemaker's comments / Gastronomy Maison Louis Jadot premier cru « Clos de la Croix de Pierre » is a powerful, structured as well as a very delicate wine. It develops nice aromas of well matured black fruits. It is quite long in the mouth with supple tannins. It will perfectly match with tender red meats, lamb and mild cheeses. Preservation This wine will age for 5-8 years in good cellaring conditions (constant temperature and high humidity).
