PERQUINMORAZAN, EL SALVADOR

PERQUINPerquín is a municipality located in Morazán Department of El Salvador. Perquín was founded by The Lencas tribes before Europeans settlement and its name in poto means “Caminos de Braza.”

Perquín lies at the heart of El Salvador´s Ruta de Paz (Route Peace) on the north of Morazán and is surrounded by many coffee plantations and is characterized for its cool climate and pine trees.

Museum of revolution

Perquín is home of The Museum of Revolution which contains artifacts and exhibits related to the civil war. The museum makes this town the highlight of El Salvador for many visitors.

Winter Festival The best time to visit Perquín is the first week of august which celebrates its “Winter Festival” which is a cultural and historic event with folk dances, cultural activities, parades and the election of its Lenca´s Queen.

This town can be visited by local and international tourists.

Perquín Guide Company was born with the idea to show the natural beauties and

sharing the history of the civil war and the rebuilding of the town from 1980´s to the

present.

OBJECTIVE

Our main objective is to promote and contribute to economic, social and cultural development of Morazán and the border

region through tourism and environmental protection.

natural and historic places. Ideal for ecotourism allowing the developing of
