CFA Society Pittsburgh: 2014-2015 Collegiate Personal Financial Planning Competition The CFA Society Pittsburgh is pleased to announce our first annual, Collegiate Personal Financial Planning Competition. After speaking with students at the University of Pittsburgh, who called a similar type assignment, “The most impactful in their four years”, the CFA Society of Pittsburgh hopes to help our regions students: 1) Begin preparing for the financial realities of life after college, and; 2) Take ownership of their financial future. To accomplish this objective, the society hopes to expand the number of colleges in the area that have incorporated The Missing Semester, and who are applying the ideas within the book to their students own financial future. While recommended, The Missing Semester is not required. Eligibility: Students currently enrolled at a two or four year academic institution are eligible to compete. Submission: Spring and Fall Semester entries are eligible. The deadline for entries is Friday March 13 th . Educators from participating schools may submit their top ten entries via the society’s website: http://www.cfasociety.org/pittsburgh/Pages/default.aspx Awards: All participants, whose financial plans meet a minimum level of standard, will qualify to receive a “Certificate of Achievement”, awarded by the society. Monetary prizes will be awarded for the top five plans on April 3 rd during The Missing Semester/Vanguard 2015 student panel on financial literacy. The CFA Society Pittsburgh is pleased to announce our first annual, Collegiate Personal Financial Planning Competition. Personal Financial Plan Guidelines: Please follow the guidelines set forth below.

4 to 5 pages of a comprehensive plan (4.5 pages is ideal) You may use single spaced text or a detailed outline format Pick a start date like graduation or the starting date of your job Plan for a 1-year, 3-year and 5-year horizon Use a cover page and a table of contents Put all exhibits in appendices Number your pages of outline or text (do not number the cover page or table of contents) Your final page should be sources cited or a bibliography

Winners will be selected by the society’s financial literacy committee and will be based upon completeness, format, creativity, supporting exhibits and use of sources.
