Instinct provide the driving force for action If instinct is left by itself it might lead to

undesirable behaviour So some sort of control is necessary Aim of education is to modify them and

direct them into healthy channels so that they may lead to socially desirable form of behaviour.

The development of character and personality depends on sublimation of instincts

All personality traits will have influence on the behaviour patterns of an individual.

But the behaviour of each individual is mainly influenced by one or more strong and in-depth specific trait or a set of traits. The influence of such trait will be reflected in all behaviors of the individual. they said to be the robust personality trait of that individual

Eg:-a strong philosophical adherence to non violence and sincere social commitment were the robust traits of Gandhiji’s personality
