Profiling
What is profiling?
ü identifies an individual’s:
- Personality
- Strengths
- Weaknesses
- Motivators
ü helps us answer questions regarding the personality,
motivation and behaviour of others.
How does profiling work? 1. Profiling is based on carefully calibrated facial analysis –
a reading of the individual’s unique facial and head characteristics
2. Profiling then correlates these to map an individual’s core personality and skills
What can profiling do?
Tufts University, MA/USA studied whether people can accurately assess whether a company is successful just by looking at a picture of its CEOs.
A high percentage made the right assumption… but how?
faces and heads provide information on which we base our ‘gut feeling’
• However, profiling goes beyond intuition to provide an objective definition of personality and skills that is far more accurate and useful than gut feeling
• A profiler can filter out the facade and image of a person to answer the core question of why certain people are successful - or not!
Profiling: where is it useful? 1. HR & recruitment
making sure a position is right for an existing employee – and that a candidate is well suited to a vacant position
2. Building complementary teams
in a business or organisation
3. Negotiation preparation and conflict resolution through a better understanding of parties’ personalities and motivating factors
4. Personal development
helping finding own personal and professional path
