    What is DevelopmentalPersuasive Disorder

    It is also known as PDD This is where child only shows

    some signs of Autism, but notin all times, or in all place. PDD is first seen three or four

    year of age. Some children show signs

    while still an infant.

    The impairments of communication inchildren with PDD can start while in

    infancy The child do not or try to talk like

    other children do. Children with PDD pick up speech

    easily, but they have problems usingthe right words in a situation.

    How PDD is Diagnosed

    Medical assessment-The medical assessment will

    examine the child completely torule out any health conditions thatcould be causing the symptomsthre child experiencing.

    The child will be tested inseveral different subject areas.

    They will be assessed on whatskills they have appropriate fortheir age.

    They will be assessed in dailyliving skills.

    Psychological Assessment

    The child will be assessed by apsychologist to rule out any mental

    disorder that could be causing theproblems. The child will be examined in several

    areas like cognitive, or social. They will be evaluated for anxiety, or

    problems with depressions.

    Behavior ObservationAssessment

    The doctor assessing the child for PDD mightwant to observe the child in a natural settings.

    This can be done at home. This gives the doctor a better view of symptoms

    a child I having.

    Communication Assessment

    The child will have theircommunication skills tested.

    This will be done with testing andtalking to the child parent.

    The child will be assessed for theirability to understand others, andtheir ability to use their words.
