Perugia Perugia, capital of Umbria was founded by the Etruscans in the VII century b.C. Throughout the Middle Ages it was an important city-state and the historical centre is one of the largest and richest in interest of Italy. From the monumental Etruscan Gate to the magnificent medieval Fountain, from St.Peter church to the art of Perugino and Raffaello, from the monumental Etruscan family tomb of the Volumni to the Papal Fortress Rocca Paolina, from the ancient Etruscan remains to the Middle- Ages, from Renaissance to Baroque, every period produced absolute masterpieces. Historically rich it is nevertheless a very lively town with lots of cultural events; the most famous one being the yearly Umbria jazz-festival in July. Studio Moretti Caselli di Anna Falsettini: founded in 1860 by the master glass painter Francesco Moretti, the workshop still functions in the same 19th century workshop and continues to produce stained glass windows of the highest artistic value. The windows of the Perugia Cathedral and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli.
