The Center of Synthesis is available as a subjective focal point that any disciples in any group anywhere in the world can use as a subjective aid in their particular service activity. It would be possible for them to link up with the center, and through the center to invoke energy from the Avatar of Synthesis. This would call into play the Devas of Synthesis. This energy could be invoked into their service activity for the purpose of manifesting the Divine Plan for humanity. First, align with the World Group and visualize the World Group as a body of Light active within the world. Then contemplate your service activity in relationship to the Divine Plan for humanity, and then in relationship to the activities within the World Group. Finally, stand receptive to its practical manifestation in your particular field of affairs. When you are satisfied with these three factors, then link up with the center. Visualize it as a blue-white nucleus with the four petals, and in company with the center, link up with the higher correspondence within the Ashram. Link up through the Ashram with the triangle of the overshadowing Christ (the Lord Maitreya), the Planetary Logos (Sanat Kumara), and the Avatar of Synthesis.

The focal point and the nucleus of the Center are so nearly One in consciousness as to be enabled to work together on mental and astral levels in one frequency and power. Surrounding the nucleus and extending outward from it in a series of petal formations are the graded levels of lighted consciousness, which completes the Esoteric Center. It must be remembered here that we are speaking of a Center which is constructed, in its entirety, out of the units of consciousness which make up its total. How has such a Center come into being? It is an externalization, in part, of an Ashram, on mental and astral levels. Its members are moved by the same purpose and are stirred into activity in response to the goals naturally presented by that purpose. Each consciousness carries the same, in kind, though different in degrees of awareness of life and its meanings. Each is imbued with the same ideas, ideals, principles, and standards, hopes and dreams for the betterment of humanity, is responsive to the same thought-forms, and each is invocative and evocative of the same energies. Its members may never have met upon the physical plane of affairs and may even be unconscious in the brain of the fact of the Center. Yet, even in the lower levels of race mind thought, they tend to become a Center of power along some line or another. The very nature of this sameness brings motion. 174next Wesak festival. At that time the Avatar of Synthesis, in his relationship to the Planetary Logos and the Overshadowing Christ, will release to the Hierarchy a quantity, a quality, and a frequency of Synthesis which has never heretofore been

released to this planet. At different points throughout the world, centers have been or are being constructed to receive and carry this energy into contact with the human family in specific departments of activity. This particular Center is one of them. In addition to Center nucleus personnel, there must be constructed as quickly as is possible (and it is hoped within this next moon cycle), four petals which, in themselves, will constitute Center personnel and Center function, who can and will then carry the energy of Synthesis into the body of humanity in specific departments of human activity. These petals, which move out objectively from the sphere of the nucleus Center, and subjectively from the point of absolute white at the center of that sphere, move in a circulatory motion to the right in such a way as to form structurally both an even-armed cross and an outer periphery of the Center itself. Certainly, and I shall be frank with you in this, we are faced with a major problem in the formation of these petals and the completion of this particular stage of the building of the Center and the establishment of its function; for in order for the Center to function in this regard, there must be right relationship between petal personnel and nucleus personnel, just as there must be right relationships between nucleus personnel and any other group members who are endeavoring to relate together in a function or a number of functions. Personality (and I will give just a few moments to this, as I realize that you all understand this, yet I feel I must re-emphasize it), personality resentments, and the actions which carry negativity 179into the devic structure of the Center itself, are not only dangerous to Center personnel, but render the function of the Center actually harmful in its effects within the body of humanity. This is a hard truth for disciples at certain stages of development to accept. That negativity which they release into the group devic structure, the group aura, as it moves out into its sphere of influence, carries an impact which is harmful to those human beings with whom it comes in contact. It is a hard truth and there are many who as yet are unable to accept it. Yet, those of us who work with you know only too well, and we must account for it. You realize, then, the problem with which we are confronted in the forming of the four petals which constitute specific functions within the Center itself. All four of the petals should be functioning by the time of the Wesak. At this particular moment, at the present rate of group growth, this does not appear possible. But it may become so if certain steps are taken. We shall endeavor, first, to establish both the actual petal structure, and function of the first two petals, within this next moon cycle. The first petal will relate the energy of Synthesis to the department of government, focusing that energy primarily into the United States government, but into all others as well. The second petal will focus the energy of synthesis into the field of education, primarily, as well as the fields of science and religion. Then, the Center nucleus, and at least two of the petals, will be working together in the closest subjective rela180tionship to expand somewhat the Center function from its initial phase in which we now find it, into the next stage which will really begin at the Wesak when the greater release of energy is made. It is possible that the acceptance of the function, that the inner inter-relationship of the personnel working together on

subjective levels of effort, will radiate an influence which may make it possible to request and receive cooperation from others within the group whose development and karma places them in the position of being available to form the other two petals. There is one other point that I wish to make which may seem somewhat unrelated to that which has preceded it. As a focal point for the reception and transmission of the energy of synthesis, the Center assumes, as a part of its function, a new assignment in the very near future. The Center is to be made available to any and all disciples functioning anywhere in the world within any particular group effort in service to the Divine Plan for humanity, as a subjective focal point within the body of humanity through which the energy of synthesis can be invoked into their specific service efforts. The information regarding this function is being made available to others working in the field, and such information will find its own, so to speak, in a relatively short period of time. A meditation form and an alignment is being given to all disciples to use in their efforts to use the Center if they so choose. This, of course, means that the necessity for a 24 hour focus of spiritual force, both in reception and distributing, be maintained. For the Center may be called upon at any time during a 24 hour period by any disciple anywhere in the world for additional aid in his particular 181effort. Personnel will find a subjective response to these calls and will find it necessary in some way to account for this additional function, both within their meditation efforts and within their own higher and lower alignment throughout the 24 hour a day period. In other words, there will be an effect upon both consciousness and instrumentality as this gets underway. In some instances, such a use of the Center will be made known to you. In many more instances, your only knowledge of it will be subjective. This again necessitates the function of the petals in the quickest possible time, for the petal personnel will bear the greatest brunt of this part of the Center function. It is they who will receive the initial impact of the invocative appeal, as well as carry the energy invoked into contact with those who have asked for it. There is much overshadowing that can be brought into your consciousness as we proceed, if you are receptive. If the Center were to function with only one or two petals it would have its effect because those functioning would simply have to carry a greater burden of energy. It is likely that there will be those who will respond to the Center. Simply tell them what you are doing and what the effects of the relationships have been. The meditation of the nucleus and each of the petals formed will be coordinated so that you will all be working together. The functions already established will be expanded somewhat, and new functions will be added as it is possible to do so. 182as the focal point of Hierarchial effort, to serve the evolving human consciousness until it reached a certain point of development. That point of development is (relatively speaking) with us now, and this shift has to be made. Do not forget that whatever is done now can always be expanded. You certainly will not begin with the facilities, even so far as the amount of land is concerned. It is possible that you could even relocate in the given area several times before the end of the century. The acquiring of land is one of the major impulses now moving from the

Ashramic Center into the group life. I shall complete the instruction to be projected at this particular time regarding the petal function in relationship to that of the nucleus, so that we can proceed to other subjects. By the actual time of this next New Moon, the Center will be called upon from several different focal points within the world of affairs for aid. I should like then, to see the first petal begin to function with some measure of effectiveness at that time. The function of the second petal must, of course, wait upon some little training of the personnel involved. I have requested a meeting during the New Moon period of all nucleus and petal personnel within which to project the coordinated meditation form to be used by them during the lunar cycle. That form must of necessity be somewhat less than what would ordinarily be projected to Center personnel, in order to fit the consciousness and skills of those individuals who have not had Center training. Therefore, I am going to ask the nucleus, and the three of you who will be forming the first petal, to add to the 188higher alignment given: the triangle of the overshadowing Christ, the Planetary Logos, and the Avatar of Synthesis. At the same time, add to the lower alignment the devic structure of your own instrumentality, including the individual auras, integrated to form a group aura. The next phase or stage of the building of the Center and its function will emphasize the creation of a dynamic auric influence within the world of affairs. The building up, and I might add, the charging, of the aura, will have its effect upon the individual group membership as well, and their environment, individual and collective. You, as the Conscious Soul Incarnate will be invoking into your aura the high frequencies of the Ashram, creating a dynamic auric influence. I realize that very little instruction has been projected previously regarding this subject. However, you have received enough instruction in the past regarding other related subjects, and you have undergone enough growth and development within your consciousness to enable you to quickly relate to this aspect of your equipment as you begin to use it. The aura is that part of the instrumentality through which the devic life within the three worlds of human endeavor, including the devic life of the lower kingdoms in nature, are influenced and eventually controlled. The focus of attention upon the aura will create rapid and very pronounced changes, which can be noted both within the instrumentality itself and within the environment insofar as the relationship of the consciousness to the devic evolution is concerned. Because it is necessary to focus attention upon this a part of the building effort, at the same time that some petal personnel will be undergoing training, particularly in subjective function, I must confine the instruction regarding 189the creation of the auric influence to those of you who are ready to receive it and at the same time, depend upon you to carry forward the necessary work silently, but at the same time, including those members in the effects of the work even though they will not be consciously working with it at this time. There are then certain basic concepts regarding the aura that I wish to project at this time and ask you to apply when the instruction is projected to the total Center personnel.15 At this time, the nucleus and the petals are given the responsibility of charging the group aura, individually and collectively, with the spiritual (and I am using this

term deliberately) energies which are the basic content of that which is referred to as Soul infusion. This may seem very basic indeed and elementary, but it is not. Pull into the aura (not the instrumentality specifically) the Spiritual Light (which is remember, the creative light), Spiritual Love, and the Spiritual Power of the Overshadowing Spiritual Soul within the Ashram, charging the aura with these characteristics, these qualities and these frequencies. Then you may, if you wish to, turn your attention to it at any time during the daily routine, utilize any one or more of these basic characteristics, qualities, and frequencies in your activities. But do concentrate your attention as often as is possible upon the filling of the aura, individually and collectively, with them, until you become consciously aware of the actual presence of these energies around you, and as a part of your equipment. Become so aware of them that they become like a part of your equipment, like an outer skin, so to speak, but with depth.cleanses and purifies, for instance, the solar plexus center, the heart center, the throat center, and so on; and it adds to the magnetic aura of these centers that spiritual quality, that spiritual frequency, and that spiritual characteristic, which is necessary to the vehicle of the Conscious Soul Incarnate. There is only one other technique that I shall give you at this time in relationship to the aura. And this because I consider that you have earned it and because it can be of use not only to yourselves, but to the overall group life, and to every individual with whom you come in contact. At least once a day (and you do not have to do this in deep meditation, merely turn your attention to it) align with the Seventh Ray aspect of the Ashram and, via that alignment, pull into the aura healing energy which can be called upon by the instrumentality at any time there is need, and which can be directed outward to those who may have need of it, whether they are aware of it or not. It can be directed through any center which corresponds with the area of difficulty which the individual is experiencing. It can be directed through the hands, or simply by thought, as a radiatory action. I shall ask the nucleus and the petal personnel to concentrate upon receiving from the Ashramic Group Soul into the group aura, those energies to which I have referred, as the initiation of this stage of the center building. Realize that you are building a devic structure and that to a very great degree the outer physical manifestation of the center itself will be determined, qualified, etc., by this work which you will be doing. For, according to the auric influence will be then the outer physical manifestation of the center itself. 193assume a particular function. Either they will come to the point where they will be able to assume this function or they will assume a lesser function, (lesser insofar as responsibility is concerned). They will be of service now, by achieving the growth and development necessary to round out their equipment. To cut off all relations with these members is wrong. A friendly relationship, which is an out-picturing of the true brotherhood, should be maintained. No effort to hide from them the fact of these meetings, the fact of the formation of the petals, should be made. In other words, do not try to hide from them the fact that two petals are being formed, the fact that the center is functioning. Do not make a special point necessarily of telling them, but do not try to hide it. If they put to you questions as

to why they have been left out, if this is the way it looks, explain it, for it will be only in the realization of the effectiveness of the energies released in center function that they will eventually come to understand what is taking place. Also, you must remember that when a situation of this kind arises, you must not in any way attempt to influence the individuals involved. If there are those within the group who wish to withdraw temporarily or permanently from activity, you must stand aside and give them every right to do as they so choose. When any member of the group, or any individual outside the group, rejects another’s function or when they cannot agree with the instruction which is coming forth, you must not make an effort to force them to do so. This is their right. They must have free choice at all times to accept or reject as they see fit. Regarding the golden cross of life, quality, and appearance of the One Life, these have to do with that which is called the Synthemata. 198Then, they contemplate their service activity in relationship to the activities within the World Group as it cooperates within the World Group and what is happening. Third, is it practical insofar as their particular field of affairs is concerned? Once they satisfy themselves as to these three factors, they link up with the center, visualizing it as a bluewhite nucleus with the four petals. Then, in company with the center, they link up with the higher correspondence within the Ashram, and through that with the triangle of the overshadowing Christ (the Lord Maitreya), the Planetary Logos (Sanat-Kumara), and the Avatar of Synthesis. They invoke, from this point, the energy through the center and via their alignment with the center into their own service activities. Remember that the energy can be invoked only for service reasons. There are a number of centers of synthesis. There is a correspondence, and this center does function as one of those centers. But, as you have been told before, knowledge of the exact center is being withheld from you because you are not yet ready for it. It is possible, as the center moves more and more effectively into its function, for you to perceive with the intuitive or spiritual perception what that correspondence is. But you will not be told now, and it is doubtful that you will be told in this incarnation. You know, the function of a center of synthesis is twofold. You are entering into (shall we say) the first begin208nings or part of that function. There is a shift in function after the first has served its purpose. A center of synthesis not only transmits synthesis, but it, in turn, becomes that within which the separated (or so-called in appearance) is set aside. Humanity is functioning as the throat center and is that center within the body of the planetary life within which all kingdoms in nature are synthesized into a One life—from the highest to the lowest—from the lowest to the highest. Actually, what I have hinted at, or pointed at, will come in a much later cycle in the history of the life of the center and will have to do with evolving humanity itself. The function of the center is dependent upon a nucleus (now I am referring not to a nucleus alone as differentiated from petals, but a nucleus insofar as center personnel are concerned) focused within the mental, the astral, and the etheric frequencies of a specific area within the planetary body itself. So long as there is a group focal point functioning at that point there is a center with and within which

others who are also functioning can relate. I would like to clarify one point of conflict within the group once and for all. A physical center within which a nucleus (and I mean a nucleus) of the group can function 24 hours a day is of vital necessity. This must be. How the group works out its living conditions is up to the group. This is not a Hierarchial matter. The Hierarchy is concerned only with this: that there is a physical center which is constituted of all the kingdoms in nature—all of the devic forces of those kingdoms –which can be used as the focal point through which the energies the Hierarchy wishes to distribute to the body of humanity and the world of affairs, can be focused. This is the point of entry 209The head center constitutes that center in etheric substance of your instrumentality which is in the same vibratory realm as your home, so to speak, in the Ashram. This is a secret little known—an occult fact—its revelation brings the realization that continuity between the soul in the Ashram and the Conscious Soul Incarnate is but a matter of utilization of these two centers, their alignment, the gradual growth of a magnetic field between them and eventually their mergence into one another, until the Thousand-petal Lotus is manifest as the physical materialization or manifestation of the Spiritual Soul in the Ashram. Realize then, as you utilize that line of light between the cave and the head center, the tremendous meaning involved here—that the path between the cave and the head center is the path of evolution between and just prior to the Third Initiation and the completion of the Fourth Initiation, that contained within it, between head center and the cave is that vast body of Wisdom which will constitute your state of consciousness as you stand before the One Initiator to receive the touch of the Rod of Initiation to emerge a Master. This small bit of space between the cave and the head center which has to be brought into your conscious awareness and reflected outward, made manifest in your life and affairs through however many incarnations you take on the Path of Discipleship, that you have not to rush frantically or deliberately or any other way about the face of the earth seeking heaven or seeking truth or seeking the Wisdom—that it is all contained right here in this small space, strange as it may seem, it is contained here, that you will, through your conscious utilization of 217See also: A.W.—The PetalsThe centers within the brain are connected with the etheric body via lines of etheric substance, which resemble light, constitute the petals of the head center. This does not mean they are these petals, but in miniature they are a replica of that. Also in miniature, they are a replica, or the focus, of the center system throughout the entire etheric body. The head center in its totality (which includes all major centers in the head) is focused into, in a sense it is brought into, a focus. It is the energy that is moving from the head center, through the brain centers and back out again, that produces the man or the appearance of the man in the outer world. Now anything that overshadows this way comes down into a focus before it can come back out in a reflection. What you see is a lens here, as it is brought into focus. The brain, with its many centers, is the focal point between the tremendous overshadowing. (Remember, the head center is much more than the state of consciousness reflected in the three worlds.) That overshadowing comes down in almost a fan shape into the head, not into the cave but just in front of the cave, to the brain just in front of the cave. These lines of light, this fan-shaped network, are called “vital airs”. These vital airs, or this fan shaped etheric screen, comes down from the top of the head right 334An esoteric center is, first of all, a specific state of consciousness functioning within the total human consciousness as a focal point for the transmission and radiation of a particular type, strength, and quality of Soul awareness and energy into the life and affairs of the human family. Those years have been fraught with much negativity, much unpleasant and disastrous (in some events) experience. And yet much more could have been gained had she been at that point where she could have put herself down in the middle of the experience, whatever it was, and given that service which only she can render. This is true of any disciple, regardless of the experience, and regardless of how often the personality declares that it must have a certain material security in order to serve.

There have been very few times when Lucille could not have brought through that which is her responsibility in service to the Plan. And for every disciple, whoever he is, wherever he is, and whatever his circumstances and conditions, there comes the forgetting, the losing of the self, the lesser self and its problems, to this service. Perhaps in the beginning only for a few moments a day, then a few hours, then a few days out of the week, and finally for the whole time. It is the attention to the self and its problems which is the error when the attention should be to the burden which has been taken on, and which cannot be set down once it has been picked up. This applies to every, to all disciples at this point of development. Very soon the petal personnel will be functioning. There is one point that I would remind you of at this time in regard to this. You are the nucleus of the center. You are 543

What is the goal, the purpose of all this? Actually the group is endeavoring to become the incarnate Soul within the body of humanity. This is the group life—this is its major goal. By the year 2,000, there is within the body of humanity as the group, an actual group consciousness which is the Soul. The Soul is group conscious. It is impossible to become a Conscious Soul Incarnate as an individual. The Conscious Soul can only incarnate into a group instrumentality. We are building a vehicle for this, so that the Divine Plan can manifest for humanity the growth and development of humanity. This is a hard truth for disciples at certain stages of development to accept: that that negativity which they release into the group devic structure, the group aura, as it moves out into its sphere of influences, carries an impact which is harmful to those human beings with whom it comes in contact. It is a hard truth and there are many who as yet are unable to accept it, yet those of Us who work with you know only too well, and We must account for it. You realize then the problem with which We are confronted in the forming of the four petals which constitute specific functions within the center itself. All four of the petals should be functioning by the time of the Wesak. At this particular moment at the present rate of group growth, this does not appear possible. But it may become so if certain steps are taken. We shall endeavor, first, to establish both the actual petal structure and function of the first two petals within this next moon cycle. I am asking three members of the group to act as the first petal which will relate the Energy of Synthesis to the department of government, focusing that energy primarily into the United States 1193Petals, Thegovernment, but into all others as well. Certainly you are free to reject the assignment if you so choose. I have given the opportunity of the second petal function to three in Denver, and am waiting for their decision regarding it. The second petal will focus the Energy of Synthesis into the field of education, primarily, as well as the fields of science and religion. If these personnel so designated accept the function, then the center nucleus and at least two of the petals will be working together in the closest subjective relationship to expand,

somewhat, the center function from its initial phase in which we now find it, into the next stage which will really begin at the Wesak when the greater release of energy is made. It is possible, with the acceptance of the function, that the inner inter-relationship of the personnel working together on subjective levels of effort will radiate an influence which may make it possible to request and receive cooperation from others within the group whose development and karma places them in the position of being available to form the other two petals. Now, there is one other point that I wish to make which may seem somewhat unrelated to that which has preceded it. As a focal point for the reception and transmission of the Energy of Synthesis, the center assumes, as a part of its function, a new assignment in the very near future. The center is to be made available to any and all disciples functioning anywhere in the world within any particular group effort in service to the Divine Plan for hu1194Petals, Themanity, as a subjective focal point within the body of humanity, through which the Energy of Synthesis can be invoked into their specific service efforts. The information regarding this function is in the process of being made available to others working in the field, and such information will find its own (so to speak) in a relatively short period of time. A meditation form and an alignment are being given to all disciples to use in their efforts to use the center if they so choose. This, of course, means that the necessity for a 24-hour focus of spiritual force, both in reception and distributing, be maintained. For the center may be called upon at any time during a 24-hour period by any disciple anywhere in the world for additional aid in his particular effort. Personnel will find a subjective response to these calls and will find it necessary in some way to account for this additional function, both within their meditation effort and within their own higher and lower alignment throughout the 24-hour a day period. In other words, there will be an effect upon both consciousness and instrumentality as this gets underway. In some instances, such a use of the center will be made known to you. In many more instances, your only knowledge of it will be subjective. This, again, necessitates the function of the petals in the quickest possible time. For the petal personnel will bear the greatest brunt of this part of the center function, as it is they who will receive the initial impact of the invocative appeal as well as carry the energy invoked into contact with those who have asked for it. The effect, at this Wesak (of the new impact of energy to be released), is that if you are only functioning with one 1195Petals, Theor two petals, those who are functioning would simply have to carry a greater burden of energy. It is likely that there will be those in other areas, other centers, who will correspond with the center, simply telling them what they are doing and what the effects of the relationships have been. As far as the Spokane area is concerned, they will be carrying out the same subjective function with you and will experience very much the same effects, both in growth and in service activity. The meditation of the nucleus and each of the petals formed will be coordinated so that you will all be working together. The functions already established will be

expanded somewhat, and new functions will be added as it is possible to do so. I am sorry. I am not permitted at this particular time to release the eventual number of petals within the center structure, but there will be more than four. I wish to repeat some instruction projected to the nucleus a short time ago, and to expand upon that. The new Center of Synthesis, which is one of several ashramic objectifications being established in the mountainous regions of Canada, the United States, and South America, has behind it a long-range plan which those disciples working with it at this time should endeavor to grasp and understand. These centers will be required to take the burden of objectified Hierarchial effort from those centers now carry1196Petals, ThePetals, ThePetals, ThePetals, ThePetals, ThePetals, Thethe shift of polarization within the body of humanity. This is not an unexpected development. Those centers were established as the focal point of Hierarchial effort to serve the evolving human consciousness until it reached a certain point of development. That point of development is, relatively speaking, with us now and this shift has to be made. Regarding the requirements or space needed for the center facilities, do not forget that whatever is done now can always be expanded. You certainly will not begin with the facilities, even so far as the amount of land is concerned, and it is possible that you could even relocate in the given area several times before the end of the century. Establishing the center is one of the major impulses now moving from the ashramic center into the group life. I shall complete the instruction to be projected at this particular time regarding the petal function in relationship to that of the nucleus. By the actual time of this next New Moon, the center will be called upon from several different focal points within the world of affairs for aid. I should like then to see at least the first petal begin to function with some measure of effectiveness at that time. The function of the second petal must of course wait upon some little training of the personnel involved. I have requested a meeting during the New Moon period of all nucleus and petal personnel within which to project the coordinated meditation form to be used by them during the lunar cycle. That form must of necessity be somewhat less than what would originally be projected 1202Petals, Theto center personnel in order to fit the consciousness and skills of those individuals who have not had center training. Therefore, I am going to ask the nucleus and the three of you who will be forming the first petal, to add to the higher alignment given, the triangle of the overshadowing Christ, the Planetary Logos, and the Avatar of Synthesis. At the same time, add to the lower alignment the devic structure of your own instrumentality including the individual auras integrated to

form a group aura. The next phase or stage of the building of the center and its function will emphasize the creation of a dynamic auric influence within the world of affairs. The building up, and I might add, the charging of the aura, will have its effect upon the individual group membership as well and their environment, individual and collective. You as the Conscious Soul Incarnate, will be invoking into your aura the high frequencies of the Ashram, creating a dynamic auric influence. I realize that very little instruction has been projected, previously, regarding this subject. However, you have received enough instruction in the past regarding other related subjects, and you have undergone enough growth and development within your consciousness to enable you to quickly relate to this aspect of your equipment as you begin to use it. The aura is that part of the instrumentality through which the devic life within the three worlds of human endeavor, including the dePetals, Thewithin the instrumentality itself and within the environment insofar as the relationship of the consciousness to the devic evolution is concerned. Because it is necessary to focus attention upon this part of the building effort at the same time that some petal personnel will be undergoing training, particularly in subjective function, I must confine the instruction regarding the creation of the auric influence to those of you who are ready to receive it, and at the same time, depend upon you to carry forward the necessary work silently, while at the same time, including those members in the effects of the work even though they will not be consciously working with it at this time. There are then certain basic concepts regarding the aura that I wish to project at this time and ask you to apply them when the instruction is projected to the total center personnel. But, do not ask questions regarding this subject at the time of that meeting. Please, do not refer to the subject in the presence of others. The first concept and one which you all know to a greater or lesser degree is that the aura is in itself magnetically attractive. That which enters into the center system is attracted into that center system by the activity and according to the frequency, tone, and color of the aura itself. For instance, you fill your aura with that which is the essential radiation of you as an individual focus of consciousness incarnate within the three-fold instrumentality. According to the tone, the color, and the frequencies carried in the aura, so do you attract into not only experience, but into your awareness via the center system, impacts of various kinds.Petals, TheThe aura can be filled with energies of almost any kind insofar as their relation to the human kingdom, and consciously or unconsciously, the individual, the incarnate individual, calls upon those energies as they are needed or demanded by his reactive mechanisms. The “Rain Cloud of Knowable Things”, to the disciple, is but a part of the aura. At this time, the nucleus and the petals are given the responsibility of charging the group aura, individually and collectively, with the spiritual (and I am using this term with deliberation) energies which are the basic content of that which is referred to as soul infusion. Now this may seem very basic indeed and elementary, but it is not. Pull into the aura—not the

instrumentality specifically—the Spiritual Light (which is remember, the creative light), Spiritual Love, and the Spiritual Power of the Overshadowing Spiritual Soul within the Ashram, charging the aura with these characteristics, those qualities and these frequencies. You may, if you wish to turn your attention to it, at any time during the daily routine, utilize any one or more of these basic characteristics, qualities, and frequencies in your activities. But do concentrate your attention as often as possible upon the filling of the aura, individually and collectively, with them, until you become consciously aware of the actual presence around you as a part of your equipment, like an outer skin, so to speak, but with depth. Visualize the aura extending at least six feet around you in the beginning. You may realize first that the devic structure of the aura includes the devic life of all kingdoms in nature, for it is the emanation of that substance which has cohered into your particular form or instrument. 1205Petals, ThePetals, ThePetals, Thequality, that spiritual frequency, and that spiritual characteristic, which is necessary to the vehicle of the Conscious Soul Incarnate. Now there is only one other technique that I shall give you at this time in relationship to the aura, this because I consider that you have earned it and because it can be of use not only to yourselves, but to the overall group life and to every individual with whom you come in contact. This is to at least once a day (and you do not have to do this in deep mediation) merely turn your attention to it. Align with the Seventh Ray Aspect of the Ashram and via that alignment, pull into the aura healing energy which can be called upon by the instrumentality at any time there is need, and which can be directed outward to those who may have need of it whether they are aware of it or not. It can be directed through any center which corresponds with the area of difficulty which the individual is experiencing. It can be directed through the hands or simply by thought as a radiatory action. The meeting does not have to be at the actual time of the New Moon, but within a 7-day period after the New Moon. Actually, I should prefer that the meeting be held at Estes. The determination of its time will have to wait for word from those in Denver who may or may not accept the assignment of the petal function. As soon as it is known, as soon as their decision is known or has been stated, then you may work together to determine the most convenient time for the meeting. At the time of that meeting I shall ask the nucleus and 1208Petals, Thethe petal personnel to concentrate upon receiving from the ashramic group soul into the group aura those energies to which I have referred as the initiation of this stage of the center building. Realize that you are building a devic structure and that to a very great degree the outer physical manifestation of the center itself will be determined, qualified, etc., by this work which you will be doing. For according to the auric influence will be the outer physical manifestation of the center itself. Now, remember, this cannot be referred to verbally at that time, but do focus the

attention upon the group aura, align with it, with the ashramic group life and be aware of the release of Spiritual Light, Love, and Power from the Ashramic Group Life into the aura. First, I would like to remind you that this particular cycle was one in which certain trends were initiated. Therefore, its influence and effects in ordered manifestation will continue over a long period of time. Not only will they continue but they will manifest in lesser cycles of intensive oppositional activity. Insofar as the group movement through the cycle, more was accomplished than could have been expected (I did not say than was expected). Certainly much was accomplished of which you have no awareness, and yet as your awareness expands you will note certain changes in your condition and circumstance as well as personal relationships you will be able to relate back to the cycle itself. Actually, the group underwent during this cycle the most severe test that it has ever had to face, a test which is not completed and will not be through the rest of this incarnation, and in moving through the initiation of this particular kind of testing, did arrive, each in his own individual way, at a point of development and stability far 1209Petals, ThePetals, ThePetals, ThePetalsPetals, Theyou study and meditate, reflect, upon the instruction, making every effort to understand it and in that understanding, to embody it. It would be of great benefit to the ashram with which you are affiliated and to the work itself if this center could begin to make right use of its economy by making the most (if I may use such terms) of that instruction and training which it receives. I should like to set a precedent insofar as the overall group is concerned: that it be unnecessary at any time in the future for Me to repeat instruction already projected at one of these meetings. I am most pleased to answer your questions when they are apropos and when they do not necessitate a repetition of that which has already been projected. This one very small step would do much in the establishing from the onset of a right economy within this center effort. Before I proceed with the instruction, I wish to announce that I cannot release the Energy of Synthesis in the quantity and quality hoped for to the center at this time nor until there can be a full meeting of the nucleus and all members of the petals. It requires at least three individuals—that is a triangle—of disciples to actually constitute one petal. Until there are two full petals present, then, I am not permitted to release the energy. I shall, however, take advantage of this opportunity, projecting vital instruction regarding center function and the functions of both the nucleus and the petals. I shall also project the meditation techniques to be used. You can begin them immediately in preparation for that time when the full amount of the energy will be released. We will set a period during the Full Moon for the release of the energy. I shall leave it to you to arrange that meeting at your time, your convenience, insofar as time and location are concerned. 1213

Petals, ThePetals, Thewith all of this to which they have responded. They are a center, an outpost within the three worlds of human endeavor. That is, the mental, the astral-emotional, and the etheric-physical, an outpost of that ashram with which they are affiliated spiritually. A center is constituted of a nucleus and a certain number of petals, depending upon its particular function. That is, the number of petals depends upon its particular function. The nucleus and the petals each have a specific function which is vital to the perfect function of the center as a whole, and it is herein where the problem of the overall group, in this instance, lies. And it is herein where much work must be done. Try to grasp these principles which are based on facts in nature— what we might call spiritual facts in nature. First, the center as a total is a one life. It is composed of a number, several or many (whichever the case may be), of inter-related and integrated functions. Each function is specific and highly specialized, just as is the case with any organized form. When one unit, which can be one disciple or several, whichever the case may be, is functioning, the one life of that center is carrying out that particular function. In other words, when the eyes see, it is the one life of the incarnate consciousness which is seeing through those eyes. Now this is vitally important. It is a basic principle—a spiritual fact in nature. When it is grasped and understood, it makes possible right relationship of function, regardless of personality difference, personality reactions, etc. It eliminates pride, ambition, jealousy, and all of those human factors which can enter in, which can hinder and delay the spiritual work if they are permit1215Petals, Theted to do so. The functions of the nucleus and the petals are different—they are specific, and each is vital to the perfect function of the center as a whole. When the nucleus is functioning, the one life of the center is functioning through it. This includes that one life which is also a part of the petals. When the petals are functioning, the one life of the center is functioning through those petals. This includes the one life of the nucleus. It is the job (if I may use this term) of the nucleus to hold the alignment with the Avatar of Synthesis through a number of focal points which have been given to it, and to bring into a focus within the three worlds of human endeavor the energy released by the Avatar of Synthesis to the center. This is the function of the nucleus. This is its primary function. It is the function of the petals to appropriate, to receive, that energy which has been brought into a focus by the nucleus, and to make it available to humanity via whatever is its particular relationship with humanity. In other words, that petal which is directly aligned with government will take the energy brought into focus by the nucleus, and will direct it into the life and affairs of both the government and that group which is actually, in essence, the world government, using those techniques which have been given to it. Now, these two functions are specific. They are clearly defined. If the nucleus functions as it should, it cannot move from its function to direct energy out into the body of humanity. I want this clearly understood, for it is in the misunderstanding and the misinterpretation of 1216

Petals, Thethose functions that constant difficulty arises insofar as group relationships are concerned. The nucleus must be constantly, steadily, 24 hours a day, receptive and, more than receptive, receiving, invoking, this Energy of Synthesis via its higher alignment. If it turns its attention outwardly into the body of humanity to government or to education, or to any one of the other departments of human living, it immediately shifts in frequency. It immediately loses something of its particular alignment, and is then not fulfilling its specific function. Now the same applies to the petals. The petals have to take that energy and, via their alignment with and through whatever department of activity they are related with humanity, they have to step the energy received down to just that frequency, that quality, and they must give it to humanity in the quantity that particular humanity can receive, so that the petals have to be, in their particular function, moving outwardly, aligned with the humanity—the incarnate humanity—in whatever particular department they are related—constantly receiving the energy and tuning it down according to the frequency, the quality indicated by their recipients. The nucleus would not do the world service meditations in the same way. In other words, they will be working with the energy and the concept in its general, its abstract, its universal aspect, not into specifics. The moment that the nucleus moves from this function, it is not fulfilling the function. There will be a formal, regular meditation to do every day and an attitude to be carried throughout the 24 1217Petals, Thehours, as the personnel are able, as they, in their own growth and development, are able to carry such an attitude. Now I should like to try, at this particular time, to eliminate, insofar as possible, possible misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and conflicts regarding this difference of function. Every disciple in the center or in the group carries his own higher alignment. Every disciple attends to that higher alignment. Every disciple is aligned with: the center of the ashram with which he is affiliated, the Overshadowing Christ, and as much of the One Life as he can take into his consciousness or that he is aware of. This does not in any way delete from that fact, insofar as the petals are concerned. Every disciple works from his own higher alignment in whatever function he is endeavoring to carry out. These functions are service functions. It is the function of the nucleus to bring into itself whatever of source, of consciousness, of frequency, energy, etc., is possible to the total group—to the total humanity which that group serves. This is its function. The petals, then, according to their relationship within the body of humanity, take that which is brought into focus and they then give it in whatever form, in whatever frequency, is most beneficial to humanity. It is automatic as a result of the ability of petal personnel to become one with the soul of that humanity through which they are serving the total humanity. In other words, we will take as an example, the first petal whose work will be with the government—with the de1218Petals, The

partment of government. Now, the first assignment that the petal will receive will have to do with the channeling of the Energy of Synthesis to the President of the United States and his cabinet as a group. By becoming at-one with the consciousness (both that which overshadows and the incarnate consciousness of this group), petal personnel will automatically step down the energy to whatever frequency might be necessary at any given moment. They will then, after this has been done, in the same meditation, turn their attention to international government—the right growth and development of international government—of international law. And as they do so, they will be receptive from within this larger group, to calls—they may be conscious; they may be unconscious. They may be simply demands which are a result of what is happening at any particular time in the world. They will be receptive to impressions regarding the needs of humanity in this particular department at any given time. As they receive such impression—as they become aware of the demand being made upon them—they will become one with the consciousness involved, both that which overshadows and that which indwells, and they will then, in so doing, step the energy down to whatever frequency is needed at that particular time and in that given situation. Suppose a member of the nucleus group is also receptive to the demands—the problem involved here is a problem for both nucleus and petals. It is a problem of discipline, a different kind of discipline than any which you have experienced in the past. Spiritual function necessitates certain sacrifices. I know as well as you that for the nucleus to turn its attention away from the specific de1219Petals, Themands of humanity in various departments of human living is going to be extremely difficult, particularly for some members of the nucleus. It is going to constitute a real sacrifice and a real discipline. And yet, in order to perform the assigned function, the personnel must be one-pointed. It will be just as much a problem and just as difficult for the nucleus as it will be for any one of the petals, and perhaps more so. For the nucleus will have to detach from specifics in order to perform and fulfill its function. The only impressions would be those which involve humanity as a whole, a totality, and which did not necessitate the specific directional movement of energy. Because, you see, it is not the function of the nucleus to set the energy into its directional movement, it is the function of the petals to set the energy into its directional movement, within the body of humanity and to give it its specific impress. Primarily I am referring to those members of the nucleus and the petals who are present in the area. Primarily I am referring to the petal personnel, because their function will, in the beginning, be perhaps a little more difficult and will demand at least a triangle of disciples within each petal functioning. This is to insure not only the right reception of the energies—and its right direction, movement, channeling through the center—but also the instrumental safety of all of those involved. As far as physical activity is concerned, it would be only insofar as petal personnel are able to create, on a discipleship level, in Divine Law and Order, those activities which are in harmony with the Plan and particularly with their particular function, and which, then, serve the function itself. 1220

Petals, TheI should like to reassure you regarding your sense of inadequacy which is only natural. You will be given only that which you are able to do and that service will be as vitally important to the service function of the total center as will be the service of any other one of the members. If a disciple chooses to withdraw from petal function, then another disciple will have to be found to take his place before the petal can come into its function. The means of transference to be used between the nucleus and the petals will be clearly indicated in the meditation technique. Remember, as I said in the beginning, any function actually is an expression of the One Life through that particular function. Petal personnel and nucleus personnel will be functioning in a very close subjective relationship as a one life. The transference will then be automatic as they achieve that at-onement in meditation. The difference will be that the focus of one function will be in one direction and the focus of the other in another direction. But they will be functioning as one life. It is possible that one member may be unable to function or refuse to function. At this particular time it is not possible for another member to fill in the gap because there are not enough center personnel to fulfill the functions adequately in such a manner. As the center functions more perfectly, more effectively, it will attract into itself those who can function in one or another function, and those who can function in such a manner as to be ready to respond to whatever need may be manifesting within the center (functionally) at any given time. We are confronted at this time with a very definite problem which we are endeavoring to work out. 1221Petals, TheThe center is constituted of a nucleus, petals (the final number of which I cannot release to you at this particular time), and its radiatory or auric energy. Do not forget that the aura of the center is a function just as that of a petal or a nucleus, and this will be the constitution of this center. The concept of cooperative leadership has been behind and overshadowing all of this instruction. There is one other point that I wish to re-emphasize and this has to do with the relationship between the spiritual function in the subjective sense, and the outer objective physical plane activities within which all of you are engaged every day. Any act in which you are engaged which involves thought, feeling, and physical action can be a vehicle which not only carries, but also releases to its destination, the energy and the concept of your spiritual function. Now this is a very important concept because it brings to you the realization that your outer, physical activity is, in reality, as important as the inner subjective activity. In other words, if you are going through the motions of driving an automobile, of talking or conversing with someone in business, any act in which you are engaged which incorporates thought, feeling, and physical action can be a vehicle for the channeling and the release of the energy and the concept whPetals, The(because they constitute motion, they incorporate motion, sound, color, etc.) can then be (if you can come to this understanding) the outer instrument and

evidence of your function as white magicians. The overall group who are not actually in the center function do not constitute the aura. They cannot be identified as aura because they have not consciously taken up such a function. To function in any specific function, one must consciously and with intent do so. Insofar as the value of this information is concerned, yes, the information regarding center function would be valuable to all members of the group and might perhaps aid in resolving some of the problems insofar as group relationships are concerned, of the overall group life. Therefore, you have My permission to make this available to them—not the technical instruction, but the general information. An example of how spiritual function is directed into outer acts would be the act of selling a piece of merchandise to a customer. While his spiritual function as petal personnel is specifically related to the field of education and is to channel into the field of education and into the disciples within that field the Energy of Synthesis along with whatever concepts may be presented at any particular time, those two activities would seem to be completely separated one from the other. Yet, if, as he handles his merchandise, as he relates with the devic life of his environment (his store), as he relates with the soul of the individual (the customer), if he aligns this activity which involves thought, feeling, and physical action, and therefore devic life, if he aligns this with that spiritual function which is his, then the energy of the func1223Petals, Thetion naturally is carried into the activity in which he is engaged. And that activity becomes a vehicle for the Energy of Synthesis. The merchandise itself receives the energy. It does not hold it; it carries it. The physical motion which he is engaged in releases the energy into the etheric network. The customer, as a soul, is touched by the energy, affected by it, and his instrumentality, the devic life of his instrumentality, carries that energy. Now remember, his instrumentality does not hold it; it carries it. Then, as the customer moves into his environment, he is carrying the energy. So then will others within his environment automatically carry it, and so it moves out into and through the body of humanity. Because the directional movement of the attention of the nucleus is inward and upward, it does not have the same effect; but insofar as a radiatory effect, it does have its application. I am going to project at this time a preliminary meditation technique which will aid nucleus personnel and center personnel in establishing that right subjective relationship, particularly of function, and, I shall add, of brotherhood, which will facilitate the reception and distribution of the new release of Synthesis to be made when the nucleus and the first two petals have come into an integrated function which makes such release possible. Now you realize that while I am referring to a release of energy to be made, this does not mean that there is not energy being received, that there is not need for the function of the center nucleus and petals, prior to the release of a higher frequency of Synthesis, a more potent, a more dynamic energy, and in greater quantity as well as a somewhat different quality than that which 1224Petals, Thehas been released previously. So that as you proceed with this meditation

technique that I am giving you now, realize that while it is in a sense a preliminary to something close, it is also at the same time a necessity of the moment insofar as service is concerned. One other point before I direct the meditation technique. As I stated previously in another meeting, the center is already established in the frequencies of the mental, the astral, and the etheric bodies. The fact of its establishment has been made known to other disciples functioning in other groups in the field of human endeavor. These other disciples have already begun to draw upon the center for the Energy of Synthesis. They are not great in number, but they are making a demand upon the center; and such a demand should be considered, particularly by petal personnel as well as by the whole center, as we proceed. The meditation will contain, will incorporate, both forms used in the initial or the beginning stages of discipleship and some more advanced forms for the convenience of all center personnel. And now if you will prepare for meditation please. Become physically relaxed and comfortable, considering the physical vehicle as a part of the vehicle of the soul. Become emotionally calm and serene, considering the emotional body as another part of the vehicle, the instrument of the soul. Become mentally poised and alert, considering the mental body and its emanation, the mind, as another part of the instrument or vehicle of the soul.Petals, ThePetals, TheThe nucleus personnel focusing their attention upon their particular alignment with the Avatar of Synthesis, bringing that energy into a focus, endeavoring to reflect it perfectly. The first petal focusing its attention upon the President of the United States and his Cabinet, appropriating the Energy of Synthesis and directing it into that particular group to manifest the Divine Plan for humanity in the daily happenings, the daily events, the daily activities of the United States Government. The second petal focusing its attention to the department of education, channeling the Energy of Synthesis to that group of educators who are aligned with the Divine Plan for humanity, the energy to manifest the Divine Plan for humanity in the working out of new educational procedures to be put into effect within the public school system in the United States. The first petal focusing its attention to the United Nations, directing the Energy of Synthesis into this vehicle to manifest the Divine Plan for humanity in the working out of international relationships and the formulating of international law. The second petal focusing its attention into the Vatican in Rome, channeling the Energy of Synthesis into the Roman Catholic Church to manifest the Divine Plan for humanity through the activities of the Roman Catholic Church. All petal personnel focusing their attention into the overall group life, directing the Energy of Synthesis 1227Petals, Theinto group relationships to manifest the Divine Plan for humanity in the working out of right group relationships... . All petal personnel directing the Energy of Synthesis into the devic life of the overall group to manifest right relationship of

every part to every other part, and the central directing life of the ashram, the Christ.... Sound the O.M. Gradually refocus the attention within your own instrumentality, and as the Conscious Soul Incarnate, flood the mental body with light, the astral body with love, the etheric body with spiritual power, revitalizing it, re-energizing it, pouring the three energies, light, love, and spiritual power into your environment and your sphere of influence... Gradually, now, relax the attention and return to the normal focus. Now I shall ask that, in the typing of this meditation technique, every one receive the meditation as dictated, and that in addition to this, if you will, the separate steps of the petal personnel be given each one according to his particular function, so that every one will have a copy of the entire meditation and a copy of his particular assignment in addition. Certainly, as you become familiar with your functions, as you move into them, you are going to be receptive to impressions, particularly petal personnel will be receptive to impressions having to do with specific needs in 1228Petals, Theyour particular departments of human endeavor. In other words, the second petal will become receptive, increasingly so, to impressions from the field of education, of science and of religion, which have to do with specific needs of humanity in these three areas. As you do become receptive to these impressions, simply direct the energy to fulfill the need by manifesting the Divine Plan for humanity within that specific need. I would like to point out that the Energy of Synthesis is a blending, a synthesis of all seven rays, but with a predominance of First, Second, and Seventh, into an energy, a potent, dynamic energy, which in its devic construction is the precipitating agent of the Divine Plan for humanity in specific happenings, in specific events, situations, and circumstances. In other words, as this energy is directed into a specific situation, a specific circumstance or happenings, or event, a new order of devas who are the precipitating agents for the Divine Plan for humanity immediately go to work within that situation, within that circumstance, within that happening, to work out in Divine Law and Order and with Grace, the situation, so that it is a manifestation of the Divine Plan for humanity, so that it is aiding the spiritual growth and development of the consciousness, not only involved within the situation, within the circumstance or the happening, but the consciousness of humanity as a whole—so that the energy is a potent, dynamic factor in the speeding up of the evolutionary development of humanity, and is the working out of humanity's problems during this critical period in the evolution. You are free, all of you, to focus this energy into any situation, circumstance or happening which demands your attention. This applies to your personal, your busi1229ness lives, as well as to your field of spiritual activity. It applies to petal personnel more generally than to nucleus personnel. It applies to nucleus personnel only in those situations, circumstances, and happenings which are within your immediate sphere of influence, or your immediate field of activity. It certainly applies to your personal life and affairs. It is important the nucleus personnel accept the ability of petal personnel to fulfill their part of the function of the center. Do not forget, humanity is not only a total composed of many, but it is also an entity, a life which

is focused into every human being, that humanity you meet within every individual with whom you come into contact. And now I consider that I have given you quite enough at this particular time. Certainly as much as you can absorb and put to use between now and the next time we meet. Please arrange for a meeting at the Full Moon, and if petal personnel will please give particular attention to that part of the meditation which focuses the energy into the overall group life and inter-group relationships. This is, at this particular time, almost more important than the other work which you will be doing.68

It is responsible for the circulation of Soul energy throughout the group. The Head Center focuses that Overshadowing Soul in. The Heart Center circulates the field of spiritual relationships within the overall group life which is its incarnate Soul. The Throat Center then focuses that into outer appearance. The three centers serve the whole of humanity and at the same time they are the major centers of activity. There will be emphasis in Portland upon right action in the personality life and affairs. It will provide a training center for stenos, etc. The Heart Center provides the training for discipleship and for teachers and probationers. The Head Center provides leadership training. All of the centers relate with specific needs of the group. Head Center structure now provides the energy petals for all three energies. They are functioning within the center itself. They become focal points for the circulation of the three major centers. We have our Seventh Ray energy petals in the head center that are directly related with the Throat Center and bring into our group Seventh Ray energy from the Throat Center, etc.
