Pete and Me Slide 2 It was late Sunday afternoon. I had just finished eating lunch when the phone rang. Slide 3 Ring, ring, Ring, ring. Hello, Annie speaking. Slide 4 It was Pete from next door, he wanted me to go for a walk into the rainforest with him. Our Mum never let us go alone, so when he wants to go I have to go with him. And whenever I want to go, he always comes with me. Thats the way we work it and it seems to go well, as we are the best of friends. Slide 5 So we raced off down our usual trail. We love this trail because it leads to the great water hole. There was a lot of moss on the rocks as it had been raining all last week. We knew the creeks would be rushing with water. We were getting excited the closer we got as we could hear the roar of the falls. Slide 6 Wow! This is the most water Ive ever seen. said Pete. Slide 7 It wasnt long and we were on the bridge. I hated crossing it, my legs always went to jelly. But there I was again slowly, slowly crawling across. Slide 8 When will you ever get over your fear? moaned Pete. Never! I whimpered back. I felt like a little girl, shivering with fear. Slide 9 Just look at the view, we are so high up, I just love it. said Pete. I started to feel a little braver COOeeeeee I yelled. The echo came straight back. This was fun. Slide 10 We kept on walking down to the bottom of the valley. While walking we made up stories about the vines that wrapped themselves around the trees. Slide 11 We talked of trolls Slide 12 fairies Slide 13 and pixies Slide 14 and secret treasure. Slide 15 Finally we were there, at the great water hole. Last one in is a rotten egg. I teased. Pete was always the last one in so I always said that because I knew Id win. Slide 16 We stayed swimming there for over an hour. Racing, diving and jumping off the rocks. It was so much fun but we knew the time had come that we have head home. This was great, lets come back tomorrow. said Pete. School! was my only reply.
