Happy reading!!

Hello everyone! :) Welcome in the first edition of the Petra Kvitova’s fans’

magazine! The goal here is not to become the next New York Times ;)

It’s just to try to give something new and funny to all the fans of the one

and only Petra Kvitova :)

I will see how this first edition will work and hopefully there will be many

other ones to come :) Every time there will be a focus on Petra’s latest

performances, my look as her headband, but also some less serious

thing as quizzes or selfies for instance. And don’t worry I won’t forget

#teampetra ;)

Petra’s life on the tour

The after Wimbledon

After Wimbledon Petra took some time off the court and enjoyed some

vacations in Monaco. Then, she came back to the practice courts to

prepare herself for the US summer hardcourts season. But during her

first practice Petra didn’t feel good, that’s why she had some tests and

that’s how she has been diagnosed with mononucleosis… Fore sure

it’s been a tough time Petra and her close ones. But at the same it was

probably a good thing for Petra to finally have an explanation to her

disappointing latest results and her intense fatigue earlier this year. But

of course, always so humble, Petra didn’t try to use this as an excuse:

“It’s tough when I’m looking back. Many things are clearer now. But of

course I’m not sure if I don’t have mono that I’m going to play well.

That’s not something I can say. I still had chances to win anyway.

Maybe I can just see why I felt tired.” But the Czech lioness didn’t give

up and after the doctors gave her the permission Petra came back on

the tennis courts in Toronto :)

Toronto & Cincinnati

We can’t say that Toronto and Cincinnati were really successful

campaign, but at least Petra played. And even if it was really painful to

watch her matches for her fans, we all stood behind her because that

was maybe one of the moment of her career where she needed it the

most. Here is what Petra said when she arrived in Toronto: “Of course

I still feel tired and a little bit sleepy. I don’t know if it’s the jetlag or this

thing. I will try my best for sure. We are making the schedule smart with

the practicing so I’m hoping it will be fine soon.” And she didn’t lie, she

gave her best on every point what made all her fans so proud of her!

Petra’s personality is probably the number one reason of why we are

all always supporting her, and in tough times like the ones Petra is

currently having she never disappoints us, always fighting till the end,

and still smiling despite the intense fatigue :)

Petra’s life on the tour

Sweet 17 in New Haven

And all the effort of Petra was finally rewarded pretty quickly during the

summer as she simply shined at the Connecticut Open! :) Let’s be

honest we could easily call New Haven Petra’s second home, I mean,

she has always said it was one of her favourite tournaments and except

for her first participation, Petra has always reached the final of the

tournament and had already won it 2 times before this year. And the

magic was still there for the 2015 edition :) A brilliant game and 2 wins

against top ten players in the semi-final and in the final (Caroline

Wozniacki and Lucie Safarova), it couldn’t have been a better week in

New Haven for Petra and her confidence. Despite her mono and her

light training she was still able to win big matches and tournaments!

Also this 17th has something very special as it was the first time in her

career that Petra managed to defend a title! :) I think you guessed it,

but Petra was smiling at the end of this week ;) “I’m really pleased. I

didn’t really come here with a good kind of confidence and game and

everything. But everything turned around. I have it again. … I’m happy because of the trophy here.”

Petra finally <3 NY

“I just don’t find New York as my favorite city, if I can say. It [does] not

really suit my personality, probably. But still, if I’m on the court, I should

just play a little bit better.” That’s what Petra said after her title in New

Haven and before heading to New York for the last Grand Slam of the

year, the US Open. And to be honest, we, her fans hadn’t really high

expectations either. We were already so happy Petra managed to win

her 17th title in New Haven. But when Petra came onto the Arthur Ashe

stadium to make her US Open debut against Laura Siegemund we

were just like “Wow! :o” First this outfit, let’s talk about it, this black kit

was just perfect! One of the best Petra has ever worn for sure! And

second choc, this level!! Petra was literally on fire. That’s probably not

the reason why her outfit turned to be red for some matches but that

was really a pure joy to watch Petra keeping her New Haven :) And

that’s how Petra managed to reach her first ever US Open quarterfinal

and finally fell in love with New York ;) Unfortunately Petra’s road ended

in this quarterfinal after a really tough match, tough conditions, and of

course, tough opponent (Flavia Pennetta). But once again, we can only

be so proud of what Petra did! Amazing player, fighter and person! :)

My headband’s life

What happened to me last month :

My message to Petra :

Hi everyone! Petra’s headband is talking to you ;) It’s been a pretty good period for

me lately. Indeed, despite her difficult times Petra never left me and I managed to

stay on her head during all matches from Toronto to her US Open quarterfinal :)

What a pleasure for me to be able to enjoy Petra’s smooth and powerful game from

the best possible place. Having a seat on her head is so wonderful, you can really

see the game from a unique angle :) And when my lovely boss is on fire like in New

Haven and at the US Open it’s simply perfect! :) I’m probably the luckiest headband

in the world and I’m really very proud to be Petra’s headband, if I could, I wouldn’t

choose any other player! <3

As you probably know it Petra unfortunately hasn’t won the US Open, but sincerely

it really doesn’t matter for me. We all know Petra isn’t in the possible form and what

she did these last months just makes me so proud of her! :) Petra gave everything

she had and fought till the last point even when there was nothing left to give! She

is such a great role model for all of us and I'm really glad to have her as my idol!

When someone is so humble and always do her best you can only be proud and

have a lovely smile on your face. I will never stop to support Petra for the great

person she is and all the #teampetra think exactly the same!! The season is not

finished yet and I’m sure there is still some great success to come for Petra this

year :) So matter what can happen headband won’t give up and will always say

Pojd Petra!! :)

The Petra Kvitova Experience, By Jake

2015 Western and Southern Open : It is always my dream and I know many others to be able to experience Petra

in person and for the third straight year in Cincinnati I was able to do just that.

This year was the most special of them all because this was my longest visit

there and it featured me getting to watch her practice about six times, a match,

and some other bonuses :)

Practices are one of the coolest parts of being at a live event because it’s a

much more relaxed setting than a match and you get to see players work hard

but also laugh and smile during it. I’ve never been to a Petra practice where

she wasn’t smiling and this should be a surprise to nobody because she is full

of positive energy at all times and it’s wonderful to witness. Also if you thought

she can pull off some hot shots in her matches, her practices are no different

and it goes unnoticed because most can’t see practices. Believe me though,

she is firing winners and aces during them and I’m always left speechless. Her

partners can’t do much either but watch as the shots go past them.

One thing I hadn’t gotten the past two years that had also been a dream was a selfie with her and the fact that I pulled off two

in the same day made the trip extra special. The second one was really cool as Petra took the time to go on both sides of the

court to sign and take pictures with everyone and was happy to do it, something I don’t see too often. Just another reason as

if we didn’t know already how nice and sweet she is with all of her fans :)

The selfies weren’t the only things I got from her as she also signed four items

for me including a ball, a picture of her holding the Wimbledon trophy, a card of

her that the tournament gave out, and the coolest item I could ever have, a

picture of her with my other favorite player Simona Halep that they both signed.

I didn’t know if that one would work out but I was elated when it was completed

since it’s certainly a beautiful picture.

Last but not least, I enjoyed watching her play a match against Caroline Garcia

which she unfortunately lost but that’s beside the point. Of course it would’ve

been great to see her win, but the fact that I could be front row up close and

watch the winners fly off of her racquet was amazing. There were plenty of

fantastic shots to remember and some pojds too which I always love. She fought

hard until the very end and that’s all you can ask for as a fan; to at least see she

gave herself a chance.

The best thing I can tell you from my experience is that Petra is everything

advertised that you see on TV and more. Enjoying these moments further proved

why I’m very proud to be her fan :)
