The Mines petroleum reservoir systems graduate program is a multi-disciplinary, non-thesis master?s degree for students interested in working as geoscience professionals in the petroleum industry. The departments of geophysics, petroleum engineering and geology and geological engineering share oversight for the professional master?s in petroleum reservoir systems program through a committee consisting of one faculty member from each department. Students gain admission to the program by application to any of the three sponsoring departments. Students are administered by that department into which they first matriculate. PROGRAM STRUCTURE Professional Master?s in Petroleum Reservoir Systems (non-thesis): 30 semester hours, comprised of up to 9 semester hours at the 400 level and all other credits toward the degree at the 500 level or above. One course (3 credit hours) selected from the follow ing:

- GPGN/ PEGN419 Int roduct ion to Format ion Evaluat ion and Well Logg ing- GPGN519/ PEGN50 4 Advanced Formulat ion Evaluat ion

Two courses (6 semester hours) selected from the follow ing:

- GEGN/ GPGN/ PEGN50 3 Integrated Exp lorat ion and Development- GEGN/ GPGN/ PEGN50 4 Integrated Exp lorat ion and Development- GEOL60 9 Advanced Pet roleum Geology

An addit ional three courses (9 credit hours) must consist of one course each from the three part icipat ing departments.

The remaining four courses (12 credit hours) may consist of graduate courses from any of the three part icipat ing departments or other courses approved by the commit tee. Up to 6 credit hours may consist of independent study, including an indust ry project .

APPLICATION INFORMATION- GRE scores sent by ETS (average applicant GRE score is 162 quant itat ive, 153 verbal

and 4 .0 analyt ical)

- For internat ional applicants or applicants whose nat ive language is not English, a TOEFL score of 79 or higher (or 550 for the paper-based test , 213 for the computer-based test ) is required. In lieu of a TOEFL score, an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher w ill be accepted.

- Statement of purpose, updated curriculum vitae or resume, a minimum of three

let ters of recommendat ion and t ranscrip ts for all post -secondary degrees
