Not all parks allow dogs. Check a park's signage and/or website to make sure dogsare allowed before entering. Dogs can signal the presence of a predator and cancause a disturbance to certain wildlife and can disrupt feeding and nesting patterns.Always keep your dog on a leash to be mindful of other park visitors and to keepyour dog out of harm's way. Your dog may be friendly, but the law requires thatdogs must be leashed at all times.Always pick up after your dog and properly dispose of waste.Just like you would do for yourself, check your dog for ticks after your hike.
