Pet poisoning is an emergency situation that needs veterinary attention as soon as possible. Here is the top 10 list of most common poisoning seen among cats and dogs according to the America Pet Poison Helpline. 寵物中毒是非常危險的情況，應立即尋求獸醫的協助。分別對貓隻和狗隻以下是十種最常接觸到的有害物品，資料來自於 America Pet Poison Helpline

If a pet is suspected to have ingested poison, here are the important steps that could save your pet’s life:如果懷疑寵物攝入毒藥，以下是搶救寵物的重要步驟：

1) Do not panic. It is never wise to consult Dr. Google before consulting a veteri-narian as this may delay the time to seek proper veterinary care. 必須冷靜並尋求獸醫的協助；不要嘗試自行在網上搜尋解決方法，因為這可能會延誤治療時間。

2) Note the symptom and time e.g. vomiting, seizure. Seek veterinarian care as soon as possible注意寵物的症狀和發症時間，如；嘔吐，癲癇發作。盡快發作並應盡快尋求獸醫的協助

3) Identify the possible toxin that your pet may ingested. Keep the package of the toxin for vet. 找出你的寵物可能攝入的毒藥，保留毒藥的包裝以供獸醫參考。

Although some pets who had ingested poison may still look normal but that does not mean that they are safe. It is crucial that veterinarian care is sought immediately. Lastly, prevention is better than cure. Thus it is best to prevent this from happening by knowing the types of poisoning that could be harmful to our pets and place it out of reach from them.

Celebrating Charity慈善活動嘉年華

On the 29th August, Pets Central launched their first annual Pets Central Charity Quest at Mong Kok hospital. The Pets Central Charity Quest is a series of fundraising events to raise money to support animal welfare causes. Following the launch, we had a variety of succesful events and a fun finale event to celebrate an ending to all our hard work.

Who says raising money for charity can’t be a blast? We hosted 5 fun filled events including a pet-owner nature hike ‘TKO Walk it Out’, a mega water balloon fight ‘Water Balloons and Pillows’ , even an attempt to break the world record of the longest bedsheet chain ‘Escaping to the Better World’ .

Our final event was, the ‘Sai Kung Carnival’ held at Steamers Bar Sai Kung. The atmosphere was vibrant and enjoyed by all with a pet item sale, game booths, face painting, prizes and even puppy corner where you can meet and cuddle adorable pooches.
