At the core of the ITLA is Pirelli’s DTL, a high performance external cavity laser capable of tuning over 100 channels and designed to meet the requirements of today’s high-channel count DWDM metro and regional telecommunications systems. With Pirelli’s ITLA, the operator is capable of fully exploiting the network. One Pirelli ITLA can replace each fixed transmitter, thus dramatically reducing inventory and sparing costs. The tunable laser, Telcordia GR-468-CORE qualified, does not require moving parts to achieve tunability. The Pirelli ITLA is a digitally controlled module that allows

network equipment manufacturers to integrate tunable laser sources
