Face-to-face teaching days will be an opportunity for the teacher to check-in with each student in their class within a small group once a week. Collecting evidence of student learning (Verification) Teachers will be able to assess student learning on the face-to-face teaching days and via their online platform. The students will be required to bring in any workbooks that have been used during Home Learning for the teacher to mark. For Home Learning, students will still be required to post specific work. These tasks have been highlighted purple below and will be used as an assessment of student learning. We understand that some tasks will require parent support and guidance, however we have tried to keep activities as independent as possible and consistent with routines in class for familiarity. Feedback (Evaluation) Face-to-face teaching days will also be an opportunity for the teachers to assess, provide students with feedback on their learning and assign new learning goals for the students to work on at home. Please note that due to face-to-face teaching days, teachers will not be providing as much feedback online. Communication Now that Phase 1 has commenced and teachers are taking classes two days a week, they will not be available during this time. Therefore, communication and Home Learning marking and feedback will only occur on the days that teachers are not teaching students face-to-face, similar to a normal school day.

Year 1 - Phase 1 Return to School Home Learning Plan

Students returning to school on Wednesday or Thursday

Guiding question Consideration and ideas

What are the students going to learn?

Students will return to school on either Wednesday or Thursday depending on their surname. On this face-to-face day, the students will be engaged in explicit teaching with their class teacher. The focus of the day will be English, Maths and one other Key Learning Area.

Students will be engaged in four days of Home Learning. These four days are outlined in the timetable below and will follow the same process and structure as previous weeks.

How are they going to learn it?

Similar to previous weeks, students will be assigned learning activities on Seesaw (K-2) and Google Classroom (3-6) or for those using hard copies, complete learning in Home Learning Pack books only on their Home Learning days. Students need to bring completed work to school on their rostered day.

How will teachers ‘check in’ with students?

Face-to-face teaching days will be an opportunity for the teacher to check-in with each student in their class within a small group once a week.

Collecting evidence of student learning (Verification)

Teachers will be able to assess student learning on the face-to-face teaching days and via their online platform.

Feedback (Evaluation)

Face-to-face teaching days will also be an opportunity for the teachers to assess, provide students with feedback on their learning and assign new learning goals for the students to work on at home.
