Per the Elias Sports Bureau, Read’s five goals in four games is the best stretch for a Flyers rookiesince Mikael Renberg scored five goals in three games from Feb. 15-18, 1994.  Sean Couturier is plus-9 on the season, which leads all NHL rookies. Overall, the Flyers have the three top rookies in the league inplus-minus in Couturier, Eric Gustafsson (+6) and Matt Read (+6).  Jakub Voracek is on a five-game scoring streak, with a goal and seven assists for eight points during that run.  Max Talbot has six goals and five assists for 11 points through 19 games. His career-best season in terms of scoring was 2007-08,when he had 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 63 games. His career high for goals in a season is 13, done in 2006-07. He’s twogoals shy of the eight he had in 82 games last season.

Peter Laviolette was named the 17th head coach in Flyers history on Dec. 4, 2009. Over the final 57 games of the 2009-10 season, Laviolettecoached the Flyers to a 28-24-5 record. He then led the club on a remarkable playoff run, picking up series wins over New Jersey (4-1), Boston(4-3) and Montreal (4-1) on the way to the eighth Stanley Cup Final appearance in Flyers history.Laviolette previously spent parts of five seasons as head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes (2003-04 to 2008-09), where he compiled a 167-122-34 record in 323 games. In 2005-06, Laviolette led Carolina to the only Stanley Cup championship in franchise history, which culminatedwith a 3-1 win over Edmonton in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final on June 19, 2006.
