PHL CONSULATE GENERAL JOINS IN THE 14th ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF SIMBANG GABI AND PARADE OF PAROLS

The Philippine Consulate General participated in the 14th Annual Simbang Gabi and the Parade of Parols (Lanterns) on 15 December 2016 marking the start of the 9-day novena mass before Christmas. The event was held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels located in downtown Los Angeles. Most Reverend José H. Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles, led the Eucharistic celebration with the auxiliary bishops and clerics of Los Angeles. This year’s event was held under the auspices of the Filipino Ministry of Our Lady of the Angeles Region in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, with the theme “Jesus, Makes Us Generous Dispensers of Your Divine Mercy.” The Philippine Consulate General joined the different parish ministries, Catholic associations, and civic and non-governmental organizations in the Parade of Parols (star lanterns) that heralded the Eucharistic celebration in the Catholic community in Los Angeles.
