Phlebotomy Technician Program
This 90 hour Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens
from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all
aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures
completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology;
blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to
perform puncture methods. Note: There is no outside extemship rotation included with this
program.

Phlebotomy Technician Program
Phlebotomy Teehnieian The Phlebotomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team, whose main function is to obtain patient's blood specimens by venipuncture and microcollection. The field of Phlebotomy bas greatly expanded in the past several years, and the role of this integral member of the health care team has recently been brought into much sharper focus.
Phlebotomy Teelmieian-Employment &Education Pblebotomist's draw blood fi'om patients for testing purposes. They usually work under the supervision of medical technologists or laboratory managers. Phlebotomlsts are employed throughout the health can, system -hospitals, neighborhood health centers, medkal group practices, HMO's, public health facilities, veteran hospitals, insurance carriers and in o1her health care settings. The demand for Phlebotomy Technicians has increased substantially with the overall complexity of health can, services and the risks of infectious disease.

Admission to Continuing Education programs is open to all students unless the class is specifically designed for a limited age group. There are no educational requirements for most courses.
REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION Register early to ensure seating in our limited enrollment classes. We advise early registration as enrollment is on a "first come, first sezved" basis. Tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration. Please keep your receipts for verification. Registration is incomplete until all fees are paid in full.

REFUNDS/CANCELL&TIONS POLICY If you withdraw for any reason before the first class meeting, a refund minus a S percent administrative processing fee will be mailed. We must receive your refund request in writing at least 24 hours before the class begins. Please include your name, social security number and course name in this request. No refunds will be given after the first class meeting. All registration will automatically he refunded in full for class cancellations due to insufficient enrollment. The Continuing Education office reserves the right to cancel any class that does not have a minimum of ten (10) registrants. Information will include the date, time and location of the course. Every effort is made to notify students of course cancellations by phone or e-mail prior to the start of classes.
NON-SUFfiCIENT FUND CHECK POLICY
If your check is returned because of insufficient funds in your account, there is a $30.00 fee. The check will be submitted to the proper authorities for collection. You may be subject to additional fees.
