  • Past PhotographyBefore coming to Brigham Young University - Idaho, I had experience with photography. These are a sample of my favorite photos that I took throughout middle school and high school.

  • Perspective of 12To practice looking at the world differently, I took 12 pictures of an umbrella in the rain. I wanted to create different angles and display the unique ways of looking at a single object. Here are 7 from the set.

  • Portraits

  • motionOne of the most intereseting subjects to capture is motion. Whether frozen or blurred, motion pictures give a sense of direction and purpose.

  • DepthDepth refers to how far you can see into an image; how clear the background is. This semester, I tried to learn when it was appropriate to use both deep and shallow depth of field.

  • MacroIts amazing the details you can see in ordinary objects when you get up close. The grains in a blade of grass. The wrinkles in a pepper.

  • BannackOn June 5th, I went to a minning town in Montanna. Bannack has been perfectly perserved and we were allowed access to many buildings. We also had models come and complete the effect of this old ghost town.

  • GhostsInspired by a collection of ghost stories told at Bannack, MT, I decided to spend the day capturing the Ghosts that I spent the day with.

Ghost photos are created by using a longer shutter speed and having the subject leave the frame before the exposure is complete. This leaves shadowy figures and a haunting feeling.

  • LightingSometimes the hardest part of photography is capturing an image, properly exposed, straight from the camera. I wanted to test the limits of getting an image with unique lighting that was hard to capture while maintaining the atmosphere that was there.

You hold in your hands, a semesters worth of work. An entire semester. 4 months.

    Please. Handle with care.

This book and its contents have taken countless hours of effort, confusion, frustration, pain and joy. This book contains my personal growth through several months and I value this book. I hope you have valued it as you have looked through my photography and designs. Thank you for taking the time to view a portion of my work.
