Land Rover Above & Beyond Award Land Rover recognises youth sailing talent, presenting the Above and Beyond Award to Red Bull Sailing Team protégé Jason Waterhouse for a stunning debut performance.

In total 1,828 guests were hosted in the VIP marquee.

Guests were treated to not only high quality food & beverage, but also: - daily skippers’ briefings - umpires chat with sailors - expert commentary - mingling with sailors - high level networking opportunity - best vantage point - and a chance to ride an Extreme 40

YOUTH OPTIMIST SAILING

38 youth sailors competed for the Optimist Sailing Cup racing optimists boats in the Marin Bay. Racing took place on Saturday & Sunday mornings and was strongly supported by families.

The winners received shirts signed by all Extreme 40 skippers!

PINK DAY - DRAGON BOAT RACING In recognition of Breast Cancer Foundation, an all-female exhibition race was conducted on Saturday 7th Feb with the support of Singapore Dragon Boating Association.

This race featured 7 teams from Paddlers in Pink, Australian Chamber of Commerce, German Dragons, American Dragons, British Dragons, Team SAP and Singapore Paddles Club.  Each team had a crew from a different sailing team participating as the ‘Drummer’.

This activation was courtesy of Aberdeen Asset Management.

An estimated 19,500 people came through the RACE VILLAGE @ The Promontory…

- 6,776 Thursday & Friday - 6,044 Saturday - 6,680 Sunday

With an estimated 5,000 spectators around the bay during the event.

LAND ROVER DRIVING EXPERIENCE

An off-road driving experience was set up by Land Rover. For no charge, VIP guests & the public could jump into the Land Rover vehicles and experience their amazing capabilities driving over obstacles.

1,393 people participated in the Land Rover Driving Experience during the 4 day event.

KIDS ZONE The kids zone provided activities for families to engage in sport, and learn about sailing. Activities included:

- Name parts of sailboat - Build a boat - Half pipe boat racing - Pull sailing game - Face Painting & Balloon making

A football activation was also set up with support from Beko, offering a chance to win exciting prizes!

TRY SAILING

124 people ‘Tried Sailing’ on 10 x pacer boats. The activation was available during the mornings of Fri—Sun, courtesy of Singapore Sailing Federation, helping promote sport in Singapore community.

KIDS TOURS Over 100 children from various groups (Rainbow Foundation, Sports Cares etc..) were offered tours of the Extreme 40s and the technical areas, as well as getting to meet with the professional female sailor & Olympian Sarah Ayton.

TRY DRAGON BOATING

Singapore Dragon Boat Association offered ‘Try Dragon Boating’ to the public on Sunday during one half hour period.

Approximately 40 people tried dragon boating for free.

No. 5 EMERALD HILL BAR

A larger double-storey bar was built with support from Emerald Hill Group to provide a great venue for the public to base themselves and enjoy the day.

Each level had TV’s providing live feed to enhance viewing experience of the racing.

Aberdeen Drummers

To maintain atmosphere in the race village in-between races, drummers would entertain the crowd. This activation was courtesy of Aberdeen Asset Management.

Aberdeen Winch Challenge Zone

A fun challenge that mimics some of the sailors physical activities on the Extreme 40 was set up courtesy of Aberdeen Asset Management. The Challenge has a social media link allowing people to follow their results online. Photo Booth activations were also part of the tent.

BEKO FOOTBALL SKILLS

As shirt sponsor to FC Barcelona, Beko activates in football globally. During the event football jugglers showcased their skills in-between races maintaining a great race village buzz.

PINK@EXTREMES

The event turned pink on Sat 7th Feb in support of Breast Cancer Foundation. This included:

- Leech flags turned pink & pink balloons - Team Aberdeen and guests wore pink shirts - BCF tent promoting pink items for sale to raise funds - Pink Zumba Dancing - Rose champagne sold - LR Activation offered pink themed photos - All Female Dragon Boat racing

50 children attended an inspiring chat with three elite sailors competing in the Extreme Sailing Series:

- Nick Moloney (Aberdeen) - Phil Robertson (Gazprom) - Sarah Ayton (The Wave, Muscat)

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME

47 volunteers supported OC Sport in delivering the event. Roles were diverse and all crucial to the delivery of the event. This included:

- supporting Race village activities - executing visitor surveys - assistant to the Race management - and more…

LIVE COMMENTARY

To enhance spectator experience, explain what is happening on the race course, and maintain an atmosphere in the village live commentary supported the on-water activities.

Andy Rice and David ‘Freddie’ Carr co-commentated from Thurs-Sun from the SAP Commentary Station.

SAP ANALYTICS SAP provide analytics via live telemetry from the boats during racing. The technology provides live race rankings, live tracking of the boats and 3D graphics.

The public could access the analytics service via the internet free of charge, whilst the 3D graphics were displayed on various screens in the VIP marquee and public areas.

SKIPPER’S PARADE To help connect the public to the athletes, a Skipper’s Parade was conducted prior to each racing day.

One-by-one the skippers walked to the pontoon along a corridor lined by the crowd as the commentator introduced each team.

TEAM ABERDEEN SINGAPORE A Singaporean team competed, sponsored by Aberdeen Asset Management, helping drive a local following of supporters.

Featuring Singaporean sailor Justin Wong, the Team helped formed part of the pre-event marketing.

Their involvement helps create dreams as well as demonstrate career paths for aspiring sportsmen in Singapore.

adverts and regular coverage in their shows.

International Print & News agency highlights • International agencies Agence France Press, ANSA Italy and DPA Germany distributed news and photography that have been picked up by media around the world

SOCIAL NETWORKS Twitter: #exss Over the 4 days of the event the Extreme Sailing Series™ Twitter account had • 1,425 tweets generated from 342 contributors, • 5,977,474 timeline deliveries, • a reach of 858,249 Twitter users.

Facebook • Extreme Sailing Series™ official English Facebook page has reached 61,137 likes (as of 9 February

2015), up from 60,523 - at the end of the 2015 Series Launch in Düsseldorf on 20th January.

LIVE STREAMING & WEBSITE Live Streaming A live stream of the race was made available on the official event website Friday to Sunday for 90 minutes each day, syndicated to a number of national and international websites. Road Lamp-posts - Approximately 200 banners we installed in the following streets: Cecil Street, Robinson Road, Raffles Quay, Marina Boulevard, Bayfront Avenue, Upper Cross St . Adverts, advertorials, & Event Listings - Placed in the following media: Time Out, Weekender, Expat Living, ExMan, HoneyCombers, British Club Magazine, ANZA Club Magazine. - URA, STB and SSC media was also leveraged for event listings. Promo Video - The event promo video ran on FocusMedia office screens and Singapore Sports Council screens, Radio - Kiss 92 FM promoted the event for 2 weeks prior as well as attending the event on the Friday for a roaming report. . Print & Media - A well driven campaign to secure articles, interviews in the media complimented the marketing activity. ESS Websites & Social Media - Promoted through the Extreme Sailing SeriesTM website and social media channels. Aberdeen Asset Management - Our main local partner executed advertising on MRT trains, selected outdoor advertising boards, and a heavy push on social media (facebook) Emerald Hill - Our local bar partner promoted the event through their outlets.
