Classical music magazine

In this presentation I will be showing you the photographs that I had taken for the front cover of my magazine; I will be showing you all the images that I had taken and the one that I had chosen to use and the ones that i didn’t use and why.

I decided not to use this image for the front cover of my magazine. One reason for this is that the image as a line in it from the background wall, this is a camera slip as the background was suppose to be fully white and the line from the wall ruins the image as it doe not make it look professional. Also another reason why I did not use this image is that the lighting was all wrong; in order to get the best results from an image is to have good lighting and this image is too dim which means key details are missed out of the image.

The reason why I did not use this image is due to the positioning of the flute. The flute is pushed to the side of her body which makes it seem out of the way and doesn’t make it seem like the main focus; as well as the model we want the flute to be a main focus because its what her story is about, being a flute prodegy, so the flute needs to be much more visible also so the audience can see it better and so it catches their eye as soon as they look at the cover.

I used this image are my front cover because it tick all the boxes. By this is mean that it meets the expectation of a front cover image. The brightness of the image is just right as it captures all the main details, and can be edited on Photoshop. Also the positioning of the flute is just right as it goes across her body which makes it the main focus and catches the eyes of the audience as soon as they look and the front cover. In terms of the way the model looks, she is smiling just the right amount, not too much and not too less, this keeps up the smart look that I was going for as smartness is a convention of a classical music magazine.
