We’re delighted that you’ll be doing a practice run with us!
In this guide, we’ll cover some basics for camera settings, etc. to show you how we shoot portraits.
We’ll also show you some good examples and finally there
will be instructions on how to submit your practice run.

Camera settings
Av-A Mode ISO 200-800 White
balance: AWB

Single exposure, raw file. We’ll edit them

Ensure you are by a natural light source, such as a window or
outside

Summary & checklistGood luck with your practice run! Below is a summary of what you’ll need and a checklist
Shoot next to a natural light source Do not shoot in direct or harsh sun. Shoot next to a window, but in case there is direct sun either move the model. Use a reflector if you have it
Mix horizontal and vertical, shoot outside and in
Avoid distortion Distortion: when shooting at 35mm, please avoid getting too close to your model.
PHOTOSHOOT
Avoid high/low angle shots Keep the camera level and at chest level

We hope you enjoyed the practice run! Next, all that remains is to submit your files. For the practice run, in order to decrease file size, please upload in JPG 3000x2000. This is ONLY for the practice run. For real assignments, please always upload in RAW to the Zigna platform.
