Phyllis Simon Parker was born on May 20, 1929 at Dupree to Alvin and Inez (Insley) Simon. She grew up on the family farm east of Parade, SD. She graduated from Eagle Butte High School in 1947. Shortly after High School she taught at a country school. Phyllis was united in marriage to Darrel Parker on Dec. 14, 1949. To this union three children were born, Connie, Bruce and Juli. They farmed and ranched in Lantry for 53 years. Phyllis worked vari-

ous jobs in Eagle Butte including Coast to Coast, The Plains Clothing Store and Thompson Drug. After retiring she enjoyed spending many hours with her grandchildren. Phyllis had many hobbies including baking, quilting, gardening, crocheting, knitting and embroidering. Phyllis and Carli would spend some summers in Garden City, KS, with Connie. She had a love for cats and dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel, four brothers, twins at infancy, Kenneth Simon and Donald Simon, her parents and a very special granddaughter, Carli Ann Haskell.
