Introduction Pickering grange farm is a 126 acre former dairy farm with an impressive grade ii listed farmhouse of substantial character.

the house dates back to the cistercian monks of garendon who built a monastic grange of local stone upon the site of the now Pickering grange farmhouse. the grange was surrounded by a moat, the remains of which are still clearly evident.

during the dissolution of the monasteries by King Henry Viii the grange was destroyed leaving just a central chimney breast, around which the existing property has been built. the property passed into the hands of the crown and was then granted, in 1540, to thomas manners, 1st earl of rutland. the property passed through numerous families before being purchased by the current owners in 1956.
